Guest bugbread
With maybe the exception of Eigo Kaiki, all of Ubar Tmar's albums are great, from the relentless happiness of Fusion to the spookiness of Live and the psychedelic experimentalism of Macrometasomakosmos. Uni also puts out good stuff. Very odd vocals, but the live drums are nice. Yamabikaya makes dark, squelchy, cacophanous stuff which is pretty cool, though many find it to be too noisy and random. Kinocosmo is great, really energetic "psychedelic trance rock". Masa and Ree K on electronics, Nogera on drums, Bravo Komatsu on guitars, and Higo on bass. Past that all the Japanese stuff I know of is minimal and not my cup of tea: Masa, Ree K, OMB, Charm, all those opening groups at Solstice/Arcadia/Vision shows, etc. And I've never heard of Tokyo Tekno Tribe...Looked on the internet, but it looks like the name of a record company, not an artist. Guest Deep Kick
Try "Charm"! I dont know whether or not its released only in Japan thou...
Guest Deep Kick
>bugbread Yes Tokyo Tekno Tribe is a label. PS Nogera isnt a part of Kinokosmo anymore I think.
Guest bugbread
No way! That's a shame...Nogera was my favorite member. After all, how can you not like him? He's old, goofy, missing teeth, and snuck behind Uni during a live performance and started playing drums. It took Uni a whole song to realize where the extra drum fills were coming from. Guest bugbread
I haven't seen Kinocosmo since last summer...Dunno how I missed it. WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!????????????? I just read the second half of your post!! You mean a Japanese guy who smirks a lot, has a bit of a hunched over back, and a really cutting but funny sense of humour? Uh....Solstice....the party that reminded me I need to take it easy. If you met me during GBU I probably wasn't making a whole lot of sense. How embarassing.
