Looking for stuff on Hallucinogen in interviews, I realised that the probability of a third Hallucinogen album was getting weaker and weaker with time : 1st : 01/2001 "Do you project to release a new Hallucinogen album [...] ? A sequel to " The Lone Deranger " ? When would it be released ? [...] I have been busy with the shpongle, but I started some new hallucinogen stuff last week actually, so hopefully by the end of the year I should have enough new tracks for an album." 2nd : "Everybody is waiting for a third album of Hallucinogen. Are you planning to do it ? If not, can you explain why ? If so, can you give us more information ? I do plan a new album... I have been busy doing the 2nd shpongle album, and a few other projects, but I feel quite inspired at the moment. I need to feel challenged as an artist, and I have done a lot of psy-trance tunes now, including all my various collaborations, so it is hard to surprise myself and keep myself interested in such a constricting genre. I enjoy experimenting with different tempos / time signatures / genres." 3rd : 06/2002 "Are you working on any Hallucinogen stuff as well as the collaborative work? Not really... I have been less inspired when I am at home on my own - I enjoy working with other people a lot more at the moment.... so when I'm alone, I tend to catch up on things - like this interview. From the hallutrax released after 'The Lone Deranger' only the downtempo Herb Garden was superb, Mi Loony Um & Beautiful People disappointing imo. This way he kinda keeps the hallumyth alive. He's done some faster stuff with Younger Brother (the Finger EP) which were good but not as good as the, again slower, Receptive imo...Or the eurotrance of Fly agaric...hilarious. Above that, the hallucinogen tracks get a downbeat/dub treatment, if that is no ultimate statement that Simon had it with fast BPMs, then what is. According to the plan, in November the DMT sessions called Shpongle III are scheduled. Lets not kid ourselves, Shpongle I and II sold remarkably well, reaching many listeners from outside the psytrance camp. Together with Youth, Mixmaster Morris and Alex Patterson, Simon is the NAME in UK ambient and still rising. I guess the closest thing to a new hallucinogen album is a Shpongle remix album. "DMT sessions called Shpongle III are scheduled", where the hell did you pull that name from buddy? Guest --==1400MiLeS==-- Posted October 23, 2002 Share Posted October 23, 2002 Hehehe, dunno were I read it but the rumour is that Simon and Raja are joining forces in november to record the third shpongle...its no secret that a lot of hallucinogetics are smuggled into the recording studio so hence the name DMT session. Of course that isn't the name of the album and neighter will it be Shpongle III. This is the actual third shpongle studio album, not the remix album which you mentioned...
