Hi all,

I'm still trying to collect information for my psy-trance act biograhies collection.

I began with the "first generation" (i.e. debut before 1995). For the moment, I collected infos on :

- Juno Reactor

- Astral Projection

- Hallucinogen

- Transwave (RIP)

- Total Eclipse

- Etnica

Who did I miss ? I'm only talking about major acts of course, for the moment at least. I'll probably add Kox Box and Ofer Dikovsky. I disregarded Eat Static and Electric Universe for their more electronica orientated sound. Who else ?

As for the second generation, I have :

- Infected Mushroom

that's all, a bit short... I'm considering finding infos on minimal bands, but I'm not a specialist in that field. Some recommendations for the major acts of the subgenre ?

thx.

PS 1 : regardless of your personal tastes if possible.

PS 2 : no minimal vs. full-on quarrels please.

That old skewl list is decent...

For 2nd generation: maybe add X-Dream although that kinda started the techtrance thing with Radio

Minimal should also include imo:

Atmos

Son Kite

Disregard Electrci Universe?? There sound back then is probably the most Goaish stuff around!! I'd be really insulted to see a list of that era and not see Elextric Universe in it, I'd think for sure theperson hasno idea what they are on about.

And eat static as well?? Get your ears cleaned, your brained rewired and you whole damn head out of your arse!! Obviously you know shit all about Goa if you say two of the biggest and most respected artists are not Goa enuff, yet stick in Infected Mushroom, dammit dude, that is such a pathetic statement about those two acts, you just really ruined what has been a great day with your silly comment. To electronic, ummm, well, I seem to gather that

-Astral Projection

- Hallucinogen

- Transwave (RIP)

- Total Eclipse

- Etnica

Are pretty much all 100% electronic sounding, so maybe you should just stick Juno up and you'll have your real authentik goa sounds. Next thing we know you'll be sticking up Absolum as minimal and Midi Miliz as pop!!

Your permanently over-reacting attitude is really getting on my nerves Mike D.

Could you please, for once, give a calm comment on something with which you disagree instead of launching pointless insults ("you whole damn head out of your arse") and taking everything for a personal attack ("you just really ruined what has been a great day ") ?

"Obviously you know shit all about Goa" : lol, of course, of course, you know my musical background so well...

Stop being so serious : we're just talking about music, for God's sake !

Umm, no personal attack hhere, I do relaise that hehe. ok my calm comment.

Electric Universe and Eat Static both created some of the most amzing original Goa sound, more so than a lot of the acts that went for just the full on psychedlic effect. They placed great emphasis on story telling and melody, which, in most peoples minds, is the real formula for the Goa sound. I would say that today there are probably in my humble opinion only 4- 5 groups left doing this music and eeping the vibe really alive:

1. Juno Reactor

2.Electric Universe

3.Space Tribe

4.Astral Projection

5.Shpongle (not hallucinogen)

Now I own good collection and own nearly every cd released by these groups and many others, and these guys have stuck to the same original formula, the formula they used when Goa was still experiments in creating electronic ethnic dance music. Now in my opionon, I woudl rate Electric Universe and Space Tribe way above

-Transwave (RIP)

- Total Eclipse

- Etnica

as oprignal Goa sounds and if you are seriously outting those 3 in, your just not listening right to Eat Static who ar every similar. Now, if you were talking about Eat Static's latest releases then yes I'd agree, but not in the time fram you have set, back then tyhey were as Goa as a hippiy on th ebeaches taking lsd.

My opinion in a calm manner :-)
