Guest Zaramatu Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 Ozric Tentacles (psychedelic spacerock) and Klaus Schulze (spacemusic, various electronica). And I second what koolaid said about Hybrid. Awesome stuff. Quote
Guest Zaramatu Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 Bad, bad, bad me! How could I forget about the third masters of electronica, namely Future Sound of London? I would place them alongside Ozric Tentacles and Klaus Schulze as my favourite group. Then I would place Wolfram Spyra and Hallucinogen / Shpongle as fourth and fifth after them. Oh, and let's not forget about the insanely talented DJ Shadow, the master of cut-and-paste! Well, I guess this will be my first six favourite artists then: 01. Klaus Schulze 02. Future Sound of London 03. Ozric Tentacles 04. Wolfram Spyra 05. Hallucinogen / Shpongle 06. DJ Shadow Quote
shpongled Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 From all genres my favourites besides Posford are Dead Can Dance, the Gathering, Juno Reactor, fsol, Spyra... Quote
Guest Ciotera Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 Do I have to be the one to bring up Infected? Quote
shpongled Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 Koolaid... isn't Mogwai more like alternative rock than ambient/chill? I remember that I liked (and still like.. just haven't heard it a long time) a song 'Christmas Steps' by Mogwai. Quote
Guest Smaug Posted October 26, 2002 Posted October 26, 2002 Oh yes, you must mention Infected. If there next album is a hit, then they will surpass Simon Posford in my book. Right now Simon has the Crown for best Goa Psy Trance artist. I think Infected will take the crown of glory. Its going to be interesting. Quote
Guest bugbread Posted October 26, 2002 Posted October 26, 2002 Let's see...These aren't all current favorites, but favorites over the last 10 years or so. Psy: Infected Mushroom (Classical period and unreleased stuff) Pelinpala / Haltya Chill: The Orb Shulman Noisy: Mr Bungle The Boredoms Masonna Alt-rock Rovo Mogwai Gastr del Sol Other Techno Rei Harakami Psycheouts / Saikeouts Aphex Twin There's probably more, but that's what occurs to me now. And Mogwai is like halfway between alt-rock and chill. Depends on the song, really, so I could see it being considered either way. Quote
Guest bahamut Posted October 26, 2002 Posted October 26, 2002 After 1 year of listening to psy, my favorite artists are: 1. Juno Reactor 2. Posford Well-known artists I don't like at all: 1. Infected Mushroom 2. Astral Projection Quote
Strumpling Posted October 29, 2002 Posted October 29, 2002 My other favorite artist? I'd have to say M.C. Escher. -=- Matt/Strumpling -=- That guy's a great artist indeed. Quote
