Otto Matta
Never trust a Sony when it comes down to headphones! Also, what Kalki said, you could make a preset to crank up the bass a little. I'm just wondering why so many studios use them - Sonys. The AKG K701s are fantastic, by the way, even straight out of the box. A tiny bit of bass boost is necessary at the moment, but no more than the other phones I've used, including some good Sennheiser models. Still, no worries about bass reproduction - it's full and rich and natural. And I've had to reduce the treble level on my amp to 0, which is way cool. needle ninja
The ones I use are like the K 240 but don't have the detatchable wire, I guess mine is its predecessor. They have worked out well for me. Outside I use a pair of Sennheiser HD 212pro, sound is good.
Mike A
imo you should produce only with monitors, not with headphones.

nomis
Eq cant do it alone, you need something to simulate a room. Here is some links to vst plugins especially for headphones: http://www.ohl.to/audio-tools-and-thoughts...for-headphones/ http://www.midnightwalrus.com/Canz3D/ Both links provide good information about the difference between monitoring on headphones vs. monitors.
