Guest Raider Posted October 28, 2002 Posted October 28, 2002 I usually start with some groovy bass-tracks, like Alien Project, then evolve the tracks and let them get more crazy, with some GMS, until it all explodes in a hyperspeed, and then bring it down on a chill clubish-style, still with some fast beats and probably some good melodies. Guest cricket Posted October 30, 2002 Posted October 30, 2002 if you have a trance crowd than what ever you want to hear, though from playing for general crowds i've noticed that if you bust into goa right away, even minimal psy, people back away from the speakers. so i usualy play some techno or acid, something hard and easy on the brain, to get them in to mood than play hallucinogen. but trust you insticts and play out alot, thats the only realy way to become confident. Guest --SYNTH-- Posted October 30, 2002 Posted October 30, 2002 i think that's better to start with non-intense songs (to make anxiety in the crowd) and playing more and more intense songs as the set goes on until it reaches the climax(usually is the best song with the most powerfull and agressive climax). From the beginning of my set until the first climax i play only dark psy (with the climax being very scary and powerfull) and after the first climax i begin to put more melodic songs (like a story that after the big storm comes the shinning sun); these melodic songs are less intense (people has to rest a little after the big climax) and again, after 30 minutes more or less, it gets more and more intense again, but now its playing powerfull melodic songs and this second climax is full of good energy (like a happy ending film) after that i end up my set with more 3 or 4 non intense psy ps1: looking at the crowd, my set changes of course...i don't have fixed rules to follow... ps2: this set is like a 3h set --PSY 4 EVER-- Quote
