You have to go away from psytrance to find that.

Check out everything by Skinnt Puppy but the best choice would be "Cleanse Fold & Manipulate".

Very scary AND psychedelic. And beautiful.

Cubanate - Lord of the Flies (track, not an album)

Oops, it's industrial ! :) But I recall someone playing it in a psyparty.

Dark, but not that scary.

Black Rhino compilation by Flying Rhino records was some kind of an attempt on dark psytrance (back in 1997). At least Saturnalia by Slide is good.

Anoebis Columbian Necktie and Front Line Assembly mixes arent hard or dark hehehe!

There are MUCH MUCH MUCH worse stuff!!! (Like New Beat! ;) )

Djeez, check out the industrial label Cold Meat Industry and bands like Brighter Death Now. Or any industrial music for that matter. Or some death metal bands like Carcass, now there you have scary stuff. People into death, destruction and cutting up corpses, thats dark and scary.

Psytrance is about dancing, and if you are lucky you get something in a track that makes you think about yourself or the state of the world. But it aint scary. Or dark. Hahahahahahahahahaha. ;)

I have to agree that Schlab 03 has some moods in it that can make you feel uncomfortable, but thats because the music is very close to industrial music.

Bomshakala hahahaha.

I agree with the Skinny Puppy.. but not with the album Cleanse Fold & Manipulate.. Start with Too Dark Park.. and then Rabies.. and then Last Rights.. and then VIVIsectVI.. that is true beautiful psychological terror.. forget all the dumb death metal bands like Carcass that hold odes to physical violence, and other bands that are about Satanism.. Satanism means they believe in Christianty.. Satan is a Christian ideal and those singing odes to Satan are only latent pseudo-rebellious Christians going against what they were taught never seeing the obvious metaphorical value inherent in the Bible.. Lucifer is the son of light, Jesus was the son of light.. Allah is the son of light.. no wonder religion today is messed up.. it is all about light, white, good.. it does not teach to accept the "black", "negative pulses", "evil".. life as most know it is made of a inconstant waveform.. sometimes it peaks at black and sometimes at white.. your own heart beats this waveform.. it has it's ups and downs.. all matter and energy holds this waveform.. up and down. you are the creator and you are the death of the creator.. and this being lives and dies every second.. it is in a state of constant renewal.. every word you speak is death and every word you speak is new life.. every movement you make is propelled by him and every movement you make is eternal atrophy to him.. he dies and ressurects every second and he is every sub-atomic of your being.. you have atoms in you that elder stars weep over.. you have many lifetimes of killing and loving inside of you..

And my suggestions still stand.. If I seem rather wordy and incoherent, read it again, and again.. If what I have said brings any meaning into your life, you need to keep searching.. if you have read what I said an accept it is truth, read it again... if you totally deny everything that I have said... you are either a tool of the system or a fjord.

Ahh when I was 22 back in 1989 I used to listen to Vivisecect VI-jesus what a state I used to get myself into listening to that-I also was the only person in New Zealand listening to that @!#$ as well!!! Then rabies came along and nobody I knew liked it, i even worked in a record shop and my boss told me to take it off cause it was sick!!! Actually, I pulled the 12 inch of Assimilate out the other day and its the only one of its era that had a 143-145 beat-good stuff but yeah pretty wicked for its time. Coil and Muslim gauze also were fucking nightmares for their time as well. If you like the intensity of all that stuff Big Black used to get me going as well-"songs about fucking" and "atomiser" and also dont forget controled bleeding for some heavy bullshit aswell. But however Psytrance is deft way better and people like Tim Shuldt (when he releases @!#$ )is deft the way forwards-you gotta love it!!!!!!

Dark Soho = Not dark. hehe. My opinion.

You want DARK?!! Seems you gotta get out of psytrance because the darkest stuff there is is The Delta or Spiralkinda spinoffs (though I agree that Cydonia is pretty dark, in that sort of Posford's evil little brother sort of way, but that's irrelevant!).

Darkest stuff I've heard so far is ambient - Robert Rich. But not in that "I wanna sound scary 'cause it's cool" sort of way [cough cough Dark Soho cough cough]. More like dark because, well, it's dark - from the heart.

Sandman - Witchcraft ...

One helluva dark industrial/gothic influenced album although more melodic than the ones mentioned above...

And one of the finest pieces of psytrance released ever from Israel...

some stuff that hasn't been mentioned

N-Tropic - Impact (Ad Mix)

Source Uknown stuff (dark AND aggressive...sick music)

Eargear stuff (watch yer bassbins I am telling ya)

sometimes when listening to that kind of music I get a feeling of panic and I have to turn it off. I think it's extra low bass that they use and the aggression.

Schlabbaduerst 01 + 03

It's a series of compilations on Schlabbaduerst records featuring musicians from Upsalla, Sweden (Battle of the Future Buddhas, Ka Sol, Phlat Phase and others). It's very very hard music. It's available from the record label directly.

It may look dodgy but I got my cd so it's I wouldn't worry.
