Favorite freeware/donationware sites

I noticed that there wasnt any general shareware/freeware thread so I decided to start one.

What are your favorite donationware/freeware programs, and what are the best archives?

I've found http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/mac/ it seems to have a rather large collection of free software. Not being a musician I dont know how useful most of it is, but It looks cool.
