Goa Bill Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 Dug this tune from somebody's HD and playing it right now. Could it be one of the most influential Electronic tunes? Possibly. After all, Humanoid was half of still to be formed Future Sound of London... http://www.discogs.com/release/13628 Sounds quite dated though... The reason why i am mentioning it is cause it's re-released now with Gary Cobain's remix (The other half of FSOL) http://www.discogs.com/release/890712 Quote

That is one of the all time classics... It's right up there with Rotterdam Termination Source - Poing, Cubic 22 - Night in Motion, Moby - Go, Human Resource - Dominator, L.A. Style - James Brown is dead, early Prodigy and others that were true pioneers and had profound influence on the evolution of electronic music and its many genres. Ahhh this tune reminds me on good old days...still remember watching that video when I was a kid Maybe the video is somewhere on youtube. I suspect Nemo will have a comment in this topic Quote

Basilisk Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 I only found out about it last week after doing some research into FSOL history... praise slsk! Another oldie I came across: Jaydee - Plastic Dreams. I sort of wonder why no prog-psy guy has given that one a rinse. Slightly different subject, but it was amusing to stumble across a Domestic rmx of "Power of American Native"... I know some of you remember that one. Now add a full-on Israeli bass line. In all honesty, it is not as bad as it sounds... Quote

Stalker Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Talking about old feels.. Anyone familiar with the RetroTech series in youtube? I think its made by a brazillian woman Quite nice, everything produced with synths and drum machines from the 70's and 80's My favorite: Great video clip too Quote
seraph Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 I agree with you Pavel that is one of the most influential tracks. Classic. Period. Definition. Quote

In all honesty, it is not as bad as it sounds... Plastic Dreams must have gotten remixed a million times...maybe not by prog psy guys, but one can argue there is no such thing as prog psy. Let's face it Tribal Vision wants to be a big time mainstream progressive trance label and you'll see references to big time mainstream commercial names in pretty much every booklet of their comps...so if someone remixed it on Tribal Vision may sound very similar to what was or would be done by a mainstream name....but that's another topic altogether Quote
