Ormion Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Psy-trance artists from UK were the most important back in the old school days together with Israel and France. So what's happened? Do you know any new artist form UK? I tried hard to remember a new english artist but I couldn't! The only ones that came to my mind are the dinosaurs Joti, Posford, Tristan etc. What went wrong? alleycat Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Error Corrective is from the UK and relatively new I think. Their sound is pretty good from what Ive heard. Powerful twilight ish stuff but not the same as SA stuff. Scorb and RAM are supposed to have new albums soon, those guys aren't that new though... AMD (Aphid Moon and Dickster) just put out an album, neither of them are new but AMD is, I think? Im sure there are more... Quote

Guest antic Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Just two words: Wildthings Records All three releases I've got from them were awesome and the new Error Corrective album is supposed to be great too. It's on its way here from HongKong as we speak, so I'll be able to confirm that shortly Quote

seraph Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 I also hope that Billy Cosmosis will release his new album ("Psychodelica Melodica") soon... Yeah, it does indeed sound tasty ! Quote
Basilisk Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 You have a point... aside from the veterans I haven't heard much that impresses me in a while... oh, some good dance music, but nothing with the kind of depth I'm after... except, of course, the LPS/Ambivalent crews, who have such a unique style I am not the only one that figured out what Laup's Senip is all about, now am I? Lauryn Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 One word: Allaby. YES! ...I wish there was more morning trance out there like this... Just two words: Wildthings Records A lot of what i've heard on this label all sounds the same.....It's GOOD, EVP in particular, but it could use a bit more variety... I'd also like to mention Psymmetrix, who are bringing a darker, edgier element to the psychedelic uk sound... Damn, you're right! How could I forget - OOOD & Voice of Cod and soon hopefuly a debut from Zooloop! New Zuloop sounding good as well... Also worth mentioning is NRS/Serious Porn Collector, who I just heard play the other week.... Quote
Guest antic Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 A lot of what i've heard on this label all sounds the same.....It's GOOD, EVP in particular, but it could use a bit more variety... Yes, I agree to some extent that they sound the same / similar, but it is the Wildthings Sound - there's no other label that sounds like it and I can always tell their track from others. It is the style they created, so it is only natural they're sticking to it. However their last compilation ("Alpha Rhythms") shows that particular artist are trying to explore other sounds - Reality Grid gets more minimal, Avalon more morning / melodic, Beardy heads to the techno influenced stuff, Reality Grid experiments with breaks and Psymmetrix - as you said - brings some dark elements. At the beginning they were all probably using the same sounds / studio & techniques because they were learning it, but now they all start to show their individual approach. I'm sure we're going to see a lot of great and varied music from them pretty soon, re: the new Error Corrective album. Quote
exotic Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 keep an eye on hoodwink from wild things records! Quote
