Guest Milla
Hello to you all I read on the web that Psy artists didn't sale more than 5,000 copies in general. Where does this figure come from ? Do you have more specific figures to give ? Maybe even a kind of "charts" online ? I browsed the Web and found only references to big acts like Hallucinogen (50,000 copies for Twisted), Astral Projection (30,000 copies) and Infected Mushroom (20,000 copies). See you. soem aeld
I would jump of joy if I sold 500 copies!
Guest Valerio
I do not think that HALLUCINOGEN sell 50.000.
Guest Luiz
All time most sold CD trance-related: Are you Shpongled, 80.000 copies. the usual compilation sells 2, 3 thousand if lucky. very successful albums sells 5000 and upwards. that's pretty much it. Guest reece
more likely usual comp's (from intermediate labels, not 'the big ones') sell around 1000 copies. but then 'alternative' labels (even popular ones) are lucky to sell a couple of hundred... :-( ppl would rather buy the latest cd of 'hits', (even tho they'll probably forget it in 2 weeks time) than spend the money on something with a little more staying power. why u think we have so much of the same old shit being released every week!? cuz with these artists, u sure to make the money... but ppl still buy this same old stuff, its like the chicken and the egg syndrome, which come first? who wants to take a chance with something different...??? and by the sounds of it, almost everyones sales have dropped around 50% in the last year or 2.... from whatever factors u think count.... :-)
Guest Milla
Thank you for your contributions ! But I still don't know where you got your information from : Luiz : "the usual compilation sells 2, 3 thousand if lucky". Reece : "more likely usual comp's (from intermediate labels, not 'the big ones') sell around 1000 copies." Where did you get that ? As for Valerio, I read it somewhere on the Net, but I can't find the URL anymore. It may be wrong, as you pointed it out.
Guest cubensis
An artist usually gets $1.50 per CD sold, if that much, according to sources on 604. Rishi
