Guest kingdok
Okay, it's not often that I post these kinds of messages, since I'm a little bashful about my foray into DJing, but I'll never grow if I don't get critiques from veteran tranceheads like you guys. http://www.autodestruct.com/djvariant.htm Signal_07.mp3 is the newest one [read details below]. Let me know what you think, and don't spare the whip! My notes : Signal_07 : Antiportal // Having successfully relocated from Texas, I've decided to stick my neck out by offering this new signal up to Madison [Wisconsin]'s psy trance community as my unofficial demo. The phrasing of tracks 4, 6 and 7 is laughable, but not too horrid considering I'm working with all-new material (ex. track 1). Excuses, excuses... Tracklist : 1. Hallucinogen "L.S.D." [©Dragonfly Records] 2. Astral Projection "The Nexus" [©Trust In Trance/Phonokol] 3. Logic Bomb "Vector" [©TIP.World] 4. 1200 Micrograms "Mescaline" [©TIP.World] 5. Psyside "True Power" [©Procyon Records] 6. Cosmochaos "Landmass Vibration" [©3D Vision] 7. Authentik "Vampires" [©Boshke Beats] 8. Mr. Peculiar "Replacement Therapy" [©Tribeadelic] 9. Talamasca "The Missing Link" (Silicon Sound Remix) [©Maia Records] 10. Sonicsurfers "Crafty Species" [©Moon Spirits Records] 11. Bamboo Forest "Step By Step" [©Dragonfly Records] 12. Saiko Pod "Insoma" [©Etnicanet] 13. Hallucinogen "L.S.D." ('World Sheet of Closed String' Mix) [©Twisted Records]
Guest unikos
i havent downloaded your mix, but my critique is this: why have lsd twice (even if its a remix) in the same set?
Guest kingdok
Two reasons : 1) Contrast -- old vs new 2) Closure -- The original LSD seemed like a good set-starter and the 2002 version is a good come-down track. The mix comes full circle. That was my thought process, anyway.
Tatsu
i like the idea of lsd and lsd remix in the same mix very much. i was also planning to do an old-school mix with the both songs before i saw this... funny!
Guest gandu
hey...downloaded ur mix last night and gave a couple of listens today. I must say that i like the track listing...but...therez one slight problem...the "mood" jumps around too often for my liking...for instance...it starts off nice and melodic...then jumps to full on etc...(the last bit was nice though...i enjoyed the lsd rmx)...it would have been better to stick with one/two styles instead of jumping around so much in such a short period of time...but thats just MY opinion. and now to the "mixing"..for the most part it was good...but i noticed that at one or two parts u took a bit long to cross over to the next track...like from the first track to the second took over 45 seconds!!!...im sure this could have been cut a lot shorter if the end of LSD was faded out earlier...that sound didn't "fit in" with the next track. other than that...great mix!!
