Snapinho Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 I was gonna perform a search for you, cause there have been good topics about dub in the past, but then when I used that as a search query, the site told me "One or all of your search keywords were below 4 characters and blablabla" So, I'm sorry. When I feel up to the ask again, I might bring out some mighty dub recommendations. Quote

sjef Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 hi! .. when it comes to dub reggae, this I recommend: Roots: - Lee Perry records produced in his Black Ark studio (Kung Fu meets the Dragon, Revolution Dub, Return of Wax, etc) Especially Revolution Dub has some tracks on it, of which I'm quite sure they are from outer space. Also, the Arkology boxset mentioned in this thread before is a must have ! - King Tubby - Augustus Pablo (Good compilations: El Rockers, Dub, Reggae & Roots From The Melodica King) - Yabby You (Jesus Dread, King Tubby's Prophesy of Dub) - Sly and Robbie (Riddim: The Best of Sly & Robbie in Dub 1978-1985) UK Steppa: - Iration Steppas (Dubz From De Higher Regionz) - Dub syndicate (Ital Breakfast, Research and Development) Other: - Howie B / Sly and Robbie -Drum and Bass stripped to the bone. Regards.. Quote
lumpi Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 I'm absolutely not into this whole dub stuff usually, but I stumbled upon this one just recently and I love it!! I urge you to give it a listen... discogs link Quote
slyman2.0 Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 I think it depends, dubstep seems pretty hit or miss to me, the genre seems pretty wide right now. I wish they had a webcast of the this dude on the college radio here, he spins fucking sick stuff. mostly sounds like hiphop beats with really nice dub melodies over the top and some skank. I noticed more idm/breakcore guys getting into it, there stuff doesn't really do it for me. its the hiphop influeced guys that are making the good stuff. I met a dubstep dj a while ago that explained and showed me a whole lot about dubstep. But i found it horribly boring to be honest.. Quote
