Decorative wine bottles

I've started drawing on wine bottles recently (and even sold one! :) ) Once again, I'm using sharpie markers on primer to execute these designs. It's very relaxing, but takes a long time. I'm hoping to keep selling these so if you're interested at all send me a PM.

Holy crap that's so friggin beautiful!

This is an excellent idea for very limited collector's items releases. I believe that the artist group Coil did it once with absynth, but not as merely beautiful design as this :)

very nice!

ahhh....drawing with sharpies is very relaxing indeed!

you come to Gaian Mind festival and try to sell some there....

Thanks Lauryn :) That's a great idea. I just need the $$ to get there :(

Wow, this is amazing! You're so talented.

The first picture if the bottle is really beautiful.

Thanks psytimeofmylife :)

Is there wine inside?! :) They look awsome Symphman!!! :)

Thanks, Nemo :) Y'know that's not a bad idea for marketing, but, no, I had to drink all that wine first :P

Yeah, they do look awesome... So detailed - must take ages for every bottle?

Thanks DP, well if the damn sharpies didn't dry out so fast I could finish one in about 3 hours. There's something about the primer that sucks ink right out of the markers. I may have to use a glossier primer.

Bery preddy indeed, good stuff. The red one reminds me a bit of original aboriginee dot paintings, somehow. May have something to do with the red sandlike color of the primer too...

and if I may inquire politely ... how much did you sell em for?

Wicked, man. I really like the red one, although, as you know, I think the white one is pretty slick too. Way to go! :D

Thanks, Per. I just finished the red one last night and started a new one with triangles

Wow... Very beautiful indeed! Nice work man :)

Thank, D3lirious :)

I was going to do something similiar with an old pair of jeans, never had the guts though.

You should do it! It can't hurt anything, but a pair of jeans.

Thanks, Snap! It does look like aboriginal designs I hadn't thought about that. The starting price is $30, but depending on whether or not their popurality rises the price may change.

why not contact a company that sells absynth bottles and see if they are interested in you designs ?

Or any 'cool' hard liquor brand for that matter.

Thanks, supergroover :) That's a good idea. I wonder how I should contact them.

Holly smokes dude :o

that is amazing, is there any way you can transfer that to paper somehow or a computer design to send a few of those to real wine companies?

there's definately a few avant garde-ish companies that would (to my mind) take that design in no time.

  • 2 weeks later...

Well, no luck on eBay. Oh well.

Made some more, though.

Eventually, I'd like to fill the clear one with colored sand. The contrast with the design might make a cool effect.

Symph!

That's a good idea. Women would love some summer light shirts with such drawings on them!

The idea with painting on bottles could also bring you money if you can sell them to various pubs/bars/clubs. Yet, to diversify your products, you could try to find bottles with all kind of shapes and sizes.

What about doing such artwork on other objects? I'm just thinking about other shapes, cubic, pyramidal, sphere, i don't know, maybe weird shapes.

I'd love an ashtray made by you :P

Since you're so talented, maybe you could sell some ideas to fabrics producers? Get inside the fashion world and stuff? :P

Am i going too far? :P

Let us know if you need a Jerry Maguire. :P
