Rotwang
yeah Furious seriously rocks the place I've listened to the samples of both of this guy's albums on saikosounds, and his stuff just sounds monotonous to me. Am I just missing the point or do I need to be stoned or something? My favourite album of the year is still Waves from inner space. The more I listen to it, the more I realise what an amazing piece of work it is.

sammyhkhan
Hokey, let's update this thread! No new contenders for me besides SCS - Scienza Nuova, but just for the prog genre though...
Melancholyman
I havent heard the new bluetech.. but im sure it can fit in here. Hold you're horses is there a new Bluetech album I am not aware of? Has it been released? Or are you refering to he's side project Evan Bartholomew? Cause a new Bluetech album would be the greatest new I've ever heard!

abasio
my list twists & turns a bit each passing week at the moment my list looks like this Vibrasphere - Exploring The Tributaries Asura - Life² Sync24 - Source Tea Chairz - Tea Chairs Eat Static - De-Classified Younger Brother - The Last Days of Gravity Sienis - From A Nutter Perspective Spielerei & Mantacoup - Cold War VA - Mainspring Motion I'm confident that the new oxycanta will grace the list. If the Ishq & distant system albums come out this year they may very well get on the list too. I really hope that the new solar fields will be here soon too

advance
I'd have to nominate Prometheus and Asura as the two best albums this year, though the Vibrasphere, Younger Brother, and VA - Twist Dreams have also been amazing. Sync24, Sienis and Penta (he had 2 albums this year) haven't gotten enough play time from me, they will soon. I can't wait to hear the Polyploid, Logic Bomb and Eat Static based on the recommendations in this thread...
StraydoG
Would you guys recommended Younger Brother - Last Days od Gravity or previous release A Flock of Bleeps? I had a look in discogs and the amount of tracks that had vocals on the newer album scares me, both 50/50 for psy/amb? Just to contribute to, so far my favourite album is probably Cosmosis - Psychedelica Melodica but havent heard much yet.

Just to contribute to, so far my favourite album is probably Cosmosis - Psychedelica Melodica but havent heard much yet. IMO the second one is much better than the first. More varied & much more interesting.

sammyhkhan
Vibrasphere - Exploring the Tributaries und VA - Twist Dreams (Suntrip) I own and have listened to most other major proggy releases this year, but I cannot say any of them are up there, not even Ace or SCS. They are good good, but still not excellent in my opinion. And yes, Cosmosis - Psychedelica Melodica is pretty damn good as well!
