Jon Cocco
WOW...OH WOW!!!!!! :posford: GOD LET THIS NEW AP ALBUM BE AWESOME LIKE THE 90's ONES.. PLLLEEEEEASE!!!!!!! If this is true we MIGHT be all in for a positive surprise as opposed to the 2004 crapshoot disappointment titled TEN. Let's not go there since it wasn't even made by them per say. Astral Projection make "full-on trance" combined with goa elements today. Fans of goa-trance claim that Astral Projection has lost their distinctive sound in favor of the "full on trance" style. However, their last two tracks "Open Society" and "The Prophecy" have been greeted more enthusiastically by goa-trance fans, causing renewed interest among goa-trance fans in their new album Open Society due in 2007. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astral_Projection_%28group%
sammyhkhan
Lookinf forward to it! One can always hope that it will be old-school, but I doubt it...
pawelek
Thats no news at all... As one of the BNE/YoYo newsletters says, astral projection started working on new material for their "open society album" right after they get signed to their new label, and this was pretty long time ago. Maybe the silence about new astral's cd is something good. Instead hard proomtion, they realy indeed working hard on new stuff... Let's hope. And besides all, im pretty sure this album will be nothing special. The tracks they released lately (open soeciety, the prophecy) were dissapoiting from my point of view. The last outstanding, excelect track they produced was released in 2004 and it was called "back form hell". Eveerything that happened after that time was downhill for astral's boys... Jon Cocco
Wow I never knew any of these existed until now. I've been in the dark with AP since they produced TEN in 2004 and released a short track called Mahamudra around the same time, which I liked, although it gets repetitive at even 4:46 it's quite mainstream friendly, nothing superb. Sample Astral Projections Back From Hell track. I like it. http://www.saikosounds.com/english/display...ase.asp?id=3997 http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/pho/pho1cd299.html Sample Astral Projections Open Society song here: http://www.saikosounds.com/english/display...ase.asp?id=5256 Sample AP's Mohadive track here: http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/pho/pho1cd307.html Sample AP's The Prophecy track here: (This is so climactic/melodic and well done for Full On) http://www.saikosounds.com/english/display...ase.asp?id=6236 More AP Info? http://www.trackitdown.net/genre/psy_trance/track/7521.html
Malevol3nt
Here's Open Society with a bit bigger bitrate, it's only 1:50 long tho: http://www.astral-projection.com/control/p...OpenSociety.mp3 It looks like AP are back on the right track.. at least I hope so. It sounds a bit more psy than goa but that's fine. The Prophecy sounds goalicious :posford:

Looks like they missed by a year, year and a half.. You should never announce an album release date untill you're like 80% finished, at least that's what I would of done. jivamukti
I don't have high hopes for their new album. Open Society sounds OK, but OK isn't enough from them.

Jikkenteki
.. You should never announce an album release date untill you're like 80% finished, at least that's what I would of done. I understand where you are coming from but things happen. Our first release was a year and a half late mostly due to waiting for the last two tracks and moving to another country. My first album was actually a little bit ahead of schedule, but our second comp, Mainspring Motion, is about 8 months late, even though we've had all the tracks in for about 9 months (waiting for art, more moves and people having babies caused the delays this time around). My next album was completely finished back in Nov or Dec 2006, but its behind schedule too for the same reasons Mainspring Motion is, plus the mastering guys computer blew up with one track left to be mastered. Zekazy's album was supposed to come out last winter too, but he started over from scratch so I've learned to stop giving release dates. In all the previous releases, whenever we gave a ball park guess it "seemed" doable at the time.... but alas.... As for AP, let's hope the delays equal getting more material to choose from and release the best of the best.

seraph
I've lost my interest in Astral Projection. Sadly. :drama: + 1 Especially after I've seen their last compilation of 'full on killargh tunes'. They've lost it. seraph
Who knows might be real good You know what I've realised ? Being optimistic in the scene brings more dissapointments than surprises. I choose to hate them until they prove the opposite.
