Guest noCheese Posted December 17, 2002 Share Posted December 17, 2002 Still, I am very disappointed by the way this site is loosing quality in respect to the amount of reviewed cd's. I think this is the main point of interest for most of the visitors. I'm with this site now for more than one year, but since the mandatory registration in order to submit reviews has been implemented . the site is loosing everything it was before. Since august, there have been just very few reviews (ok, the one submitted are of better quality) and this I think is very sad. It is almoste useless to check the older cd's for new reviews, maybe one review every month or so is not enough to keep up my interest. I really recommend to children or mars to change the submit-system to the way it was before. For me it is none of a problem forget about the stupid reviews. Let's keep this site alive! Thx! It has been done before, it won't work. This site has gone downhill since the l/p system and those fucking rumours about a new update on the site. I think the dumb kids who were ruining the review section got the point, and if not then how hard is it to get two or three moderators to look after the new cd's being reviewed? That is where most of the traffic will be anyway. Exchanging e-mails with Mars obviously is a problem because everytime you want to post an e-mail you need to go through your inbox and find the password that Mars gave you. Every CD that got put up got tons of reviews before the new system so maybe it's time to say: this isn't working, lets try something else. It would be better if we could choose our own passwords, that would bring up the number of reviews for sure, but the only way to make sure that the crop of CD's from the past few months get the respect they deserve is to remove the password entirely. How bout trying this just for one month as a trial to see if people have learned their lesson? I will volunteer to co-moderate the new CD's being reviewed if thats what it takes. Come on Mars and Children, do you think its a coincedince that Isratrance has doubled its members since you guys started this new system? I am a moderator there and I think it is extremely important to have 2 or 3 places where you can come and compare what people think. You are not helping the Trance scene, you are hurting it because people will hesitate to buy a CD if they can't find any reviews about it. Plese think about this at the very least. Hope it will be running as it used to!, it was really fun/interesting imo (with new reviews and new stuff popping up every day). But in the same breath you'll also mention how everyone has gone to Isratrance. What I find hilarious is that you have to log in to post. HAHAHA! At Isratrance for logging in you get: Your own profile, your flag, a signature, private messages between users, lots of smilies and just overall just a much better looking forum with no bugs at all. You also get to choose your own password. Here for logging in you get nothing, and thats why you are lucky nowadays to get one review on every album posted. Its a shame because psynews was a great alternative and whenever I want to look up an older album, you can be sure that I'm going to come straight here. Psynews had something great going and it's sad to see that dying. People who say "wait for the new site" are full of it because they have no idea themselves when it's going to come. It would be nice if one of the guys that runs the site would come and say a word or two instead of just ignoring people. I don't remember when they adressed the rumor about "a new site" cumming smack into ya face. Is it 1 year? It seems forever. Just one FAT tip to you Children, get RID of that god damn l/p review-system. IT DOESN'T WORK OUT. We now have a couple of long boring (my oppinion) track-by-track reviews 1-2 weeks after the album is announced here and most of the bullshit-reviews are gone. Good. What was it like before you implemented the l/p system? Okey, album announced. 24 hours later, i'm fucking sure we had 2-3 good/excellent reviews, 10's of the likes "THIS ALBUM ROX0rS! 10/10", "BEST ALBUM OF THE YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!", probably 10's of the "THIS ALBUM SUX0RS! 0/10", "MINIMALISTIC SHIAT!!!!!!!". Then, yes, THEN we had those 1-2-3-4-5 liners, which i MISS these days. I like pure simple short reviews (i'm sure many other appreciate them too. Better that empty space at least) which just give a small impression that this albums is good or bad. And we had the flaming. Okioki, so it got out of hand on some artists (Elysium Project). What should be done about that? Artists that are not happy about the reviews (were there anyone beside Elysium Project on that case?), drop a fucking L/P system right on their ass. Yes, artists that can't handle flames and want l/p on their reviews, let them have it. The rest, do as we did in the old days. NO LOGIN, NO PASSWORD, NO NOTHING.
