Hi there, I was wondering if there are any cool places like clubs, stores, etc. where I can check out the psyscene in Vancouver. I´m going for new years but I wanna party!!! Thanx...

Hey how is the psy scene in Canada?

(mainly Victoria / Vancouver)

Also how hard is it to get a job there?

i am an American citizen and i am very much considering moving out of my country.

i am not skilled in any particular area but i will (and have) work most any job to support myself.

Canada seems to be a good bet. It's government seems to be a bit more intelligent then the greedy group of morons running America.

However, before i move anywhere priorities make my decision.

My main priority is a good trance scene.

Thanks all.

E

if you want a good psyscene, then go to europe (prefferebly England, France, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland)... Or perhaps try Israel, which has the most developed psy scene in the world. I'll even hook you up with a job in Telaviv, hehe :-)

Yes, I'm sure he is right. Compared to Europe or Israel there really isn't much going on in Van or Vic. No festivals or parties with killer line ups. You lucky Euros!!! ;)

Anyway, it's not too hard to get a job here if you're willing to do anything like be a server or work in construction, otherwise it would depend heavily on what job you want and your qualifications (like anywhere I suspect).

From what I hear, your best bet in Canada would be to live in Montreal, but they speak mostly French there so...

small doesn't mean bad ;) we had such a kickin underground party last night, and there's like 4 or 5 psy events comin up in this town...

FYI the ektoplazm forums are a good place to get info on upcoming events for toronto and montreal (hoping to cover other cities whenever someone there shows an interest)..

as far as moving here goes.. it might not be so insanely crazy right now but we're never sure if we're heading towards a peak or entering a slump... montreal has regular parties with enough stuff going on to satisfy most people, i would imagine, and is considered a more european-styled city (compared to the rest of north am)...

The ratio between french and english in montreal is close to 50-50 (in the city itself). Plus most people are bilingual. So I don't think the language would be a problem.

As for Europe, I think Germany has a very big party scene.
