lumpi
I need a second firefwire port on my laptop, so I searched for some pcmcia cards. Some are pretty cheap, others are not... my problem is I don't have a clue what I have to consider before my purchase. For example I think I read somewhere that some cards may affect the way the other ports are working (like cutting their bandwith or stuff like that). Does anyone have some tips what would be a good purchase? Or what I have to pay attention to? Any help is very much appreciated. Thank you edit: of course the topic has to be firewire not fireface
Mike A
Make sure it's a TI controller and not a Nec one.

dharma lab
SIIG is a reputable expansion card manufacturer. Not all their firewire cards use TI chipsets. http://www.siig.com/
