yohankiwi
*bump* So..... goa gil is playing in BA this saturday. I am tempted to go as its the first psy trance night i've got wind of since i've been here and it looks like its in an absolutely beautiful setting. I've never heard any of goa gil (either his own work or any of his sets), however, i fucking hate dark psy and goa gil is djing for something like 12 hours. Is that ALL he plays during his set, or will i get just an iny bit of some nice melodic stuff? I dont think my brain can handle 12 hours straight of dark psy, no matter how much my body is craving to dance to psychedelic music... And on a side note: if (can't remember who said this) he still sees music as a 'spiritual experience' why the hell does he play dark psy?? dark psy is about as unspiritual as psy trance gets.... Goa Bill
You can't get gayer than naked men on the cover and a guy with a pyramid up his arse. You just can't

Ormion
Who says that Dak Psy can't be spiritual? Derango, The Nommos are perfect example of Ritual Psy. And compared to Full On or Progressive Dark Psy is definitely more spiritual. You can't get gayer than naked men on the cover and a guy with a pyramid up his arse. You just can't Yes it can! Nothing, nothing, just nothing in the whole world is gayer than a cover with high heels shoes. What the fuck were those guys thinking? abort_now
Sorry I only read up til the third page of replies but I just want to chime in. I've been going to his yearly parties out here in Oregon since 2004, and have a memorable time, every time. It's different than a normal party for me. It's alot more like what I wish Christmas would be like. I love the quiet anticipatation in the air in the days before he arrives, then the excitement that passes over the entire camp when he gets there from who knows where on the other side of the world, and then the passing into the night with the drum invocation. I don't think he is some God or anything, but fuck it, it's a holiday when he's around these parts! I am willing to suspend my disbelief for one weekend to have the experience. Nexus
You are all such fcking assholes. My style is better than your nyanyanya. Grow up. Don't like dark? Don't listen to it, don't like prog don't listen to it. Goa Gil is trying to convey something in his covers, same as Symphonix, just because you don't get it doesn't mean there is anything wrong with it. Both covers are perfect for what they are. Sadhu (naked man) = gay to you? You have issues...and not the last one of them might be latent homosexuality. High heels = gay? I don't even need to explain this one... Once again idiotic elitist tendencies strike. Everyone who is no-one needs to validate themselves by pretending that they are in some way superior to others. Get over yourself, enjoy music, learn that tastes change, today you trash dark/prog/psy/polka/whatever and tomorrow you might be the biggest fan. Learn to accept others, you don't have to like it but stop pretending that you have this exquisite taste and everyone else sucks. Life will hit you over the head pretty hard once you finally realize a few things. I've never seen goa gil play, I don't really like dark at all but even I can see that it's infinitely more psychedelic than most prog stuff that I so love. There is good music everywhere, it's sad that people can't see it because they have some hangup which has nothing to do with music itself. Give it another decade of music listening and maybe by then you will understand how absurd threads like these really are.
