Manuser Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Now that's a good one! @ 0:40 (PPK - resurrection, not sure of the date, this is not the original probably released after the Etnica track) @ 2:00 (Etnica - Hell's kitchen) Exactly the same melody. Quote
recursion loop Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 (edited) Both melodies are based on a fairly standard pattern and a fairly standard chord progression. To me they do sound similar but not exactly the same, it may happen that they were written independently For the record, the PPK track is based on this (written in late 70's) The PPK track was released in 2002 (EDIT: actually 1999). I remember it well, basically it was one of the first trance tracks I've ever heard. And I have to say that listening to it now gives me goosebumps. It sounds dated but club trance as a whole had certain charm in early 00's. Edited March 9, 2017 by recursion loop Quote
Paul Eye Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Ha! Found the track I was looking for now that the thread has been resurrected: Starts @ 2:05 For those who can't bother to scroll up, same here @ 0:18 Quote
Manuser Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 Yep Recursion Loop I heard the original a while ago, to be honest the first time I heard the trance version I knew it was not an original melody, no offense to Tiesto and the likes but looks like they can't create these kind of melodies, uplifting trance is full of remake (remember Gouryella for instance ) ... even Cafe del mar by Energy 52 is not an original melody! I knew about this not a very long time ago, always though that one sounded original. Quote
recursion loop Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 The melody which starts around 0:20 seems to be a factory preset arpeggio from software synth Dune2, maybe reworked very slightly. Here at 2:24 (it's a Dune factory presets showcase) Quote
Manuser Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Aural Planet - Trip to nowhere. Easy to guess? Quote

psytones Posted January 13, 2018 Posted January 13, 2018 Hey sorry I'm kinda just jumping in here to check if anyone of you can say that this *attached track* reminds you of any other track (main melody BTW. comes at 7:56 and another one at 11:56). Like the thread Topic reads; do you think you've heard that before..? It would be really interesting to know that, "yes it is original" - or "no, listen here, its not original". https://soundcloud.com/rotorunderholdning/material-music-love-magic-master-mm-xxpsy-systems2 Thank you. It's a nice track, the structure and some synths remind me E-Mantra for some reason. Thanks for sharing. 1 Quote
psytones Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 Thanks a lot, i think I will try this again. Can someone tell me if this track sounds like another act, or track? The more original it is, the BETTER!! https://kaliearth.bandcamp.com/track/space-out-and-in-unmastered I think its really nice and complex btw, sweet evolution and many real instruments inside, which is very awesome to hear!
