Guest Daniel
I was just listening to Infected Mushroom when an idea for a post came into my mind...I was wondering, in your opinion which Psy-Trance/Ambient artists out there TRULY have their own PROFOUND (strikingly distinct and amazing), and UNIQUE (so unique they stand alone and are easily recognizable) style? Also when replying please describe whats so profound and unique about their style. If you can describe their style. INFECTED MUSHROOM They have such an identifiable style that it's not even funny. I may not be well rounded in the world of Psy-Trance but I have listened to plenty of artsists out there and Infected has a unique sound. The thing that makes their music so great is that each song they make is so completely different from their other songs that they don't keep you bored with repetition and they seem to surprise you with some of the psychedelic effects, synth sounds, basslines, and samples that they place into their music, and they catch you off gaurd. Each song has a distinct personality that carries a different tone, emotion, and energy with it. Amazingly enough while their songs are so full of variety they still have a specific style that they stick too. I would define their style as Psychotic Psy-Trance. Imagine your brain on a high dose of acid while partying in a mental institution with every loony patient partying like there's no tommorrow...that's what their style is like. They are very orginal and with each album they grow more and manage to change their ways but remain as the same ol' infected, however with B.P. Empire they did go a little more in another direction than the previous ones. Overall they kick ass in their own unique way. So whats your choice? I'm very interested to see who can present some good choices as well as some good insight, I'll be waiting.....
Guest 1nfected by Shr00ms
Well wise words Daniel, IM are maybe the only artists in the world that realy takes their skills and talent to the limit they have no bounderies and they'll keep innovate till the last day that they make music. IMO there are one more group in the world that have that unique sound that u'll recognize wright away when you'll hear it the only group in the world that can take this two generes of music "Metal" and "Psytrance" and make it into one I would call it Metal-psytrance, I'm sure u've guess I'm talking about "Dark Soho", Their best track ever IMO is their first one "the fusion" but from the begining till the latest Combustion album you could always notice their unique powerfull and talented sound which no one else has in the scene. Guest aricz
When you get to know each artist very good you'll notice they have their own unique sound. Some are easier to recognize though, like infected mushroom, hallucinogen, pleiadians/etnica, juno reactor, astral projection.
Guest PSYBORG
Dark Soho gets in Metal-Psytrance but there are some many who have produced insane good stuff. The Delta , X-Dream, TTim schuldt (who have made a lot of a side projects with the industrial masters Front Line Assembly )have get into this fussion of guitar, metal, and psytrance. Xenomorph get a new kind of style more away from industrial or metal it is the horror trance, horror ambient almost appeared in horror movies mixed with crazy trance stuff. This is not about mushrooms or mental illness it is about only HORROR. This is my favorite. Spirallianz has also an unique style more tech-trance but dark and powerfull with a little of industrial. Skazi Guitar and this peculiar bit. Wizzy Noise also is very recognizable in their style
