shinobi
I got a MV8800 and I want to sequence through it Virus Ti and another three synths using midi. The thing is that I only got 1midi in and 1 midi out on the MV8800 (the same like any other sequencer or computer). How can I drive all my synths from the sequencer? Please help me guys! (I don't want to record the midi tracks in audio tracks)
Veracohr
Daisy-chain the synths: Sequencer out -> synth #1 in Synth #1 THRU -> synth #2 in Synth #2 THRU -> synth #3 in Synth #3 THRU -> synth #4 in You'll still be limited to 16 MIDI channels, though, between the four synths. Then choose whichever keyboard you want to use as your controller, and plug it into the sequencer IN.

Also, do note sequencing a daisy chain introduces a delay especially to the last synth in the daisy. It's best just to spend 15-20 dollars and buy a MIDI patch bay [i personally recommend using the Kawai MAV-8, it's simple and pure and will last forever] and that'll eliminate any lag between midisnd -> midirec on the 2nd, 3rd, and even 4th synth. It's small, but if you let that sequence run on for awhile, it'll become inherently noticeable after awhile. -d
