phil
When I was first getting into this genre, I read a review on discogs and the reviewer mentioned that a lot of albums end with a final downtempo song. After nearly two years of listening to this music I see how true that is. I'm very interested in hearing your favourites, and I thought it would be fun to limit your tracklist to fit on a CD so that you only pick the best. Remember, they must be the final song on an album! Here's mine: 1. SynSUN - Symphonic Adventures - Tataria 2. Infected Mushroom - B.P. Empire - Dancing with Kadafi 3. Dimension 5 - Transdimensional - Flow 4. Etnica - Alien Protein - Trip Tonite 5. Jaïa - Fiction - Desert Walk 6. Juno Reactor - Shango - Song for Ancestors 7. Ra - Twist Dreams - Gates of Tiphareth 8. Ypsilon 5 - Binary Sky - Heliosphere

No reason why you shouldn't use downbeat tracks off downbeat albums or that downbeat track in the middle of the ablum. I'd also highly suggest you do it in a mix. Get a program like traktor 3 or similar... be far more interesting if everyone can hear... also be interesting to have some themed psynews dj competitions. Also don't forget the difference between ambient and downbeat.

StraydoG
Are there any artists that make downtempo CDs similar to any of the following? U-Recken - Aquatic Serenade System Nipel - Unlimited (Chill Out RMX) Filteria - Cloud Kingdom (Solar Fields Remix) Ra - Gates of Tiphareth Astral Projection - Ambient Galaxy (Disco Valley Mix) Protoculture - Halo Scorb - Supraliminal Talamasca & Yuman - Ambient 'n' Roll Khetzal - Avasari All these songs I have on CDs, usually last tracks which are brilliant. Im not into chill, ambient but downtempo like this stuff is just to good. Probably have more examples but off the top of my heads those I can remember.
