Bandarlog - The Lizard of Oz 229 Points Explanation These are the 20 tracks that received the most points from our 3 judges, and are the ones that really stood out from out from the rest of the 125 entries. It was very hard to pick a winner and the top three were very close. There were several tracks with the same number of points so the order in which those appear is completely arbitrary. Although we initially offered to master the top 10, the quality of the entries really does warrant us to master and release the top 20 as a Digital Album on Cytopia.org -and promote them as the ‘winners’ of the 2007 artist competition. We are still discussing a CD release and although no formal agreements have been made, I do think many of these tracks will make it onto CD, albeit perhaps not in the same place. We will keep you all updated when concrete offers are made by labels to license any of the tracks. In the meantime we would like to contact the artists of the top 20 tracks and make arrangements for mastering, we will then proceed with the Cytopia.org web-release and promotion. The winning artist Virtual Light will receive the 100 EUR cash plus a high end 3D animated music video made by Doctor Spook, in addition to the mastering, release and promotion that the complete top 20 receive. All artists will earn 60% of the net income from digital sales, while earnings from eventual CD release will depend on the offer made by labels interested in licensing the tracks. We would like to thank all the participants for sending their music to us, it has been inspiring and somewhat overwhelming to listen to 125 entries sent to us, and quite difficult to judge. I think production quality has played a major role and we are ready to give some feedback to artists who have questions. Special thanks to Prahlad and Dr. Spook for creative input and judging. With warm regards, Cytopia Team (Sander & Alexios)
