Guest the golden age

who remembers the golden age of 1995 to 1997 when goa trance was going to be the next big thing? when every album was a belter: both hallucinogen albums, first 2 cosmosis albums, tsyoshi, kox box, transwave, green nuns, astral projection, technossomy.....

there were only a handful of 'goa' trance cds produced and everyone was a classic and many are timeless. imagine going to a party where old school, goa trance was played, it would be a belter.

todays trance scene is so big and there are so many record labels (check psyshop for complete listening) which the majority produce one album or compliation and then go bust. there is so much crap out there, you'll be lucky to get 3 good tracks on a cd.

we need more quality and less quantity like the golden age.

Hehe, yes I remember it very well:) I listen to those old goodies all the time. I miss the old goa trance to, so why not make an old school goa party??? I still buy a lot of new stuff, but you have to go deeper if you want to find really good tracks these days. There are mostly only one or two really good tracks in a compilation now.... But, there are still some really good ones. Check out Electronic High 3 (Solstice Music) and the new crystal skulls cd...

i ve just ordered electronic high 3, its got potential. i would love to put on a goa party, if i djayed i would play classics like down at the crossroads, the rezwalker, land of freedom, people can fly, etc.

i used to put on a few little parties, thinking about putting one on in london at the end of the summer but i don't know if it will be only goa.

if you want a belter of a cd get nano records 'emergence', quality.

i have been trying to get all the old classics on cd as my collection is either on tape or on scratched cds! (cds don't like festivals and the beach!)

if you know anywhere i can get my hands on some classic compliations give us a shout. my personal favourite is tan trance 2 which i still listen to most days.

That's lame. Just because things change doesn't mean they're worse. I think people just look at those old tracks and albums as the ones that got them into this scene and that's why they hold them in such high regards. I think there is plenty of good stuff being put out today.

I bet if the same goa style was being produced still that someone would be complaining that noones pushing the envelope.

Anyway, you know that old saying: Wish in one hand and shit in the other...

Enjoy what is in front of you...

(as a side note from my little rant, I DO love that old style and wish it was played more, but I find no use in complaining cause I love the stuff thats popular now too.)

I remember those days. I miss the parties for the vibe, especially in London. Do I miss the music?? No, because I still have all the stuff from back then. 'Evolution is the key'
