mushroom magazine
Colourful Greetings! By now it's already March, an thoughts of a great springtime, as well as the coming Open Air season are starting to sprout. The crew at mushroom are also preparing ourselves for a very special Open Air event, then on the 7th of June (note this down in your calendar), we will be playing tunez at a free outdoor party all day in Altona's pedestrian zone close to the Altona train station. The occasion is the Altonale, Hamburg's largest neighbourhood party. You can dance in the city next to some decorated sea fair containers, and enjoy nature feeling thanks to the sandy beach underground especially created for this event, as well as a Birch forest in the cities west. We are all already very much looking forward to this mushroom Open Air. This event will also coincide with the 14th birthday of mushroom magazine. Before this however, we would like to invite you to our upcoming party, celebrating the 150th edition of mushrooms magazine on the 29th of March. http://www.mushlink.com/108876.html We are already working hard on this issue, which will feature a summer festival special, present the winners of the New Model Army Remix Contest, the continuation of the Featureman story, and much more. Speaking of contests: The New Model Army Remix Contest is going into the final voting stage. We will be closing the voting stations with the publication of our next newsletter in the middle of March. Don't miss your chance to cast your vote, and elect your favourite track. http://www.mushlink.com/109327.html The TRAKTOR poll in association with Native Instruments has now closed, and the 3 winners have been randomly picked: Ulrike Hulin (Soest, Germany), Agustin Calabrese (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and Oliver Schmidt (Hamburg) each won a full version of TRAKTOR 3. Congratulations! If you are an artist, in this newsletter I would like to heartedly recommend our article on the future of music distribution. This one is full of treats for the trippers and a good preview for what we have coming this year. Next is the debut album from Orca, a fresh and promising new member to the doof family. His music is hard and funny, the kind that makes you explode on the dance floor but with a stupid smile on your face. Just like we like it. http://www.mushlink.com/109102.html Skazi Live in Germany Asher Swissa & Assaf B-Bass began their trend setting style of Psytrance in 1998. The others should get aboard as soon as possible. In this special we will give you insight into the label business, and info on how you can get your music into all important online shops worldwide, even if you do not have a label. http://www.mushlink.com/109235.html Magic Mushrooms in NL Update about the legal status Mushrooms will stay legal for at least five more months. Chances are getting higher that mushrooms will not even become banned at all. Even though the Dutch minister of Health wants to ban mushrooms, there will now be a parliamenty hearing. Scientists and health professionals will give their opinions. Most of those people see more truth in well performed research than in some badly tripping politicians. It may well be that the parliament will ask for regulation instead of a ban. Regulation will mean that not everyone can sell mushrooms anymore; only specialized shops that have a mushroom diploma. http://www.mushlink.com/109365.html Global Psychedelic forum in Basel The long awaited second round of the LSD symposium In January of 2006 the international symposium "LSD - problem child and miracle drug" took place commemorating the 100th birthday of LSD's discoverer Dr. Albert Hoffmann.
