Trance2MoveU
I thought about how much I listen to this music. I'm listening to it right now. I search here and at Isra for upcoming releases at least 3-4 times a day. Here is a typical day for me: Wake up at 5:30 AM and get all the things I need for work. Since I don't leave until 8:15, after showering, preparing my lunch, making breakfast and caring for the dog, that leaves me with about an hour to listen. Straight to the computer I go. When I get in my truck I pop in a cd of about 100 mp3's per, and listen on the 25 minute commute to work. At lunch, I either put on my mp3 player or recline in my truck and listen to more music. On the way home, you guessed it, more psy. I haven't listened to the radio in months. When I get home, if I am there before my wife, I will listen to some until she gets home. After I cook dinner for us, if there is no hockey on TV, my wife does some work and I listen to more psy until bedtime around 10 or 11. Then I get up and do it all again the next day. On weekends, I have spent an entire Saturday just listening to music. I think I need an intervention. Anyone have similar situations? abasio
There is very little time when I'm not listening to music. I fall alseep to it, it plays all through the night & through my dreams. I listen to it when I lie in bed waiting to get up & when I'm getting ready. Listen on my way to work & all the time I'm at work. On my way back I have my headphones back on & at home I play music until I go to bed. Repeat this every day only pausing to socialise with non music people & see how natural listening to music is
TRohr
I haven't listened to the radio in years, and I almost always have music going while at home or off to work etc. The other day I forgot my book of CD's while going on some errands, and I didn't feel like listening to the radio; the silence was.... Odd ; ;. I wouldn't say it's an addiction, it's just that there isn't anything better out there . Seriously though, have you tried listening to the radio lately? It's unbelievable what kind of crap makes it to the radio sometimes. I bet I could come up with better lyrics while taking a shit, and that doesn't take long.... Veracohr
It's okay to listen to music that much, but try to throw some other genres in the mix, or you're just going to eventually get sick of psy.
draeke
listening 100% all the time only psy goa can drive you insane or just out of reality that's my shot! i did that for years and well, i am happy it has changed, try to mix something else in between or you will be the one isolated listenong only to "strange" music.. not that u have to conform with the masses but just try to diversify with other styles, it can be anything in the electronic world , in the classical or even pop & rock. well that's my opinion at least.. :drama:

Trance2MoveU
Why would you not use this precious time to sleep instead? I love music but nothing comes between me and my pillow time. Great question! I am one of those guys that wakes up at a certain time everyday (including weekends) without an alarm clock. Never owned one. Never needed one. Even in my youth when I would get stoned out of my gourd or falling down drunk the night before, I would always wake up very early in the morning. It's a curse, as I have no idea what it is like to sleep later than 8:30 AM. I am however a master at the 20 minute power nap! How's this for some variety? I just listened to some Lupe Fiasco (great artist) followed up by my childhood hero Billy Joel! :posford: Mdk
kathmandu
When ever I can, I listen to Psytrance and this has been for about 7-8years, I might have irritated hundreds of people during this time I say. The moment I wake up I press play. Most times I have some psy cds with me, so if I get a chance I play it. For eg. friend's car, pubs, house parties, other people's home or where ever music can be played. At work its good cause I have a personal stereo, my 63 year old boss says its a very weird kind of music and sounds like some one on acid. I have tried listening to other types of music for eg. bought some new drum and bass cause I used to listen to it a lot previously. But realised it was just a waste of money and cannot listen to other types of music even if I tried. Lets see how long it will be like this. I also blame for the amount of psytrance that gets released every week. may be also because the only music I listened while growing up were Pink Floyd and the Doors. U.F.Orb
Well,im recovering now from 3 intense years with not so much music in it...i mean only on week-end's and so. on sunday morning i got up early in the morning and heard music on the way to my base, wich was one houer drive away from my home, and during the week itself i could only hear music on my free time, wich was my sleepin' time, and im a ninja when it comes to sleepin,so the only time i heard music whs the week-end's. but thank god i got released from the army 3 week's ago and right now i had 3 week's of non stop music played near me... not only psytrance, mostly psytrance but some downtempo music, chill out, wich remindes me,if im not getting my copy of the new 'Entheogenic' album im going to get realy mad,and eventually freak out. healium
I love psytrance and some other music but if I listen to it too frequently I don't enjoy it near as much... I love silence as well - ever since I got into meditation I really appreciate the space and lushness of silence - so when I'm driving in my car very often I have no music or anything - but sometimes I rock out in a big way with the psytrance and psychill... I do quite a bit of both - silence and music.. Never the radio though... Listening to music too much makes me feel un-grounded, a bit scattered and uneasy... Psytrance in particular can grate on my nerves if I play it too much, or play it when I'm not really wanting to hear it...
exotic
Yes you are. like a lot of people who listen to electronic music always searching for that new groove. its not unnatural to listen to music all day , be it even a single genre of music. i listen to it from the moment i wake up to the time when im sleeping ; which makes it almost throughout the day except when in college attending class. i would be pretty happy if it were the only genre of music (which doesnt mean i dont listen to other genres). after some rock/alternative , i find myself always coming back to electronic music. i dunno what it is , its addictive , no doubt about that and as long as its not hurting nobody, there's no harm in over indulging. :clapping:
Sideffect...
music is my first and most healthy addiction I ever had and still have... I embrace it
Pandemonium
music is my first and most healthy addiction I ever had and still have... I embrace it Embracing the music is exactly what everyone should do. Besides for drugs, the only natural true escape for me is music, and not just any music, it has to be electronic. I would say that in any given 24 hour period that I listen to music for about 10-12 hours. Call me close minded but I dont give a fuck about any other music besides electronic. I own and listen to nothing but psy, goa, full on, progressive, dark, ambient, chillout, and even regular trance and house. At my job I am able to listen to what ever I want from clocking in to clocking out. And at decent volumes to.
smaug
I only listen to electronic music. I haven't listened to the radio in years. I live in America and most of the music played here sickens me. Granted there are exceptions, but not very many. Monday - Friday on average I listen to electronic music 3-4 hours a day. I have about an hour drive to work and during the drive to and from work I embark on my musical adventure. Mostly Psytrance and Psybient is what I prefer, although on occasion I throw in Progressive. When I come home from work sometimes I will listen to electronic music for an hour or so. When I go to bed I tend to listen to Psybient music to help relax and calm the mind. Weekends I usually take a break unless I go to a party. I do think it would be a good idea for me to mix up my music, have a little more variety, but everytime I try this nothing compares to Psytrance. I always become disappointed. I am really attracted to complex, unique, different music and Psytrance seems to fit the bill for me.
