Guest Jaimz
Didn't SUN Project already release their last album on Arcadia?
Guest Jikkenteki
Sort of a side tangent here, but I wonder if it isn't time for labels to rethink this no vinyl appraoch so many of them are taking. I rarely hear of other more vinyl dependant genres having the troubles psy is. There if a label goes under it is mainly just becaue they are crap, not ecause piracy is cutting into a huge chunk of their sales. Even in psy it seems I rarely hear of mp3 pirating of vinyl released tracks since they are a little bit harder to copy and all.... Just a random thought.... Guest russ
to the post above: vinyl sales in psytrance are so low that they are basically unsupportable. the cost of pressing, shipping, etc is too high. and other vinyl labels are hurting too, by the way. labels like Automatic have seen their sales go way down, even as they have increased in popularity. Guest jo
Yea other scenes do much better with vinyl because dj'ing is much more important to people.. psy trance friends i have who spin: 2 drum'n'bass friends who spin: all of them. Kinda freaky:)
Guest Cujo
Hey,. i just want to comment on this. i don't think this is the mp3 copiers fault that novatekk died. the last couple of conversations i had with them before they crashed they sorta like had NO idea of what they where doing. lying to all their artists. they lied about my album and everything,.. and told everyone a lot of bad things. so i see this as their own fault, they could just have kept up with the business . they have been riding this big wave called "goa head" for a long time. last time i spoke with them, they where angry about some cd's not selling, and when i saw the sales numbers , they where GOOD! compared to other cd's in Denmark. for example. but they kept releasing the same style, they had no idea of which styles was running around. no idea of how the sales where. it's sad that they crash , no doubt about it. but wonder why intact, and others left them. i was thrown out sometime before they crashed. because they lied about my album and i got really pissed.. and had some long discussions. then they even tried to keep the contract and the tracks , so that they had the right to 50% of the royalties forever... it suxx so much!. someone wanted to know about the album, well, it's out on innersound soon.. i don't know when , but all the graphics and stuff is ready, so it should be out soon. only 1 year delayed (because of novatekk) fuckers! Guest Cujo
WELL, not only sun project are pissed. we are all pissed. because novatekk kept on saying "it's allright, everything is ok,, we will do it soon". it's sort of becoming a typical german thing. they lie and they die! instead of telling the truth "look we are not doing well" or "we don't have the money". they keep on saying "we are the best." and MOST IMPORTANTLY "we pay tomorrow". as if tomorrow is in 20 years!
