Guest aricz
Ep, how do you know psytrance-acts today earn less money today than they did 5 years ago? What's the reason? Yep, i have problems figuring out how this is the case. Explain if you have the will&energy to do so. The evidence you're talking about doesn't exist. Prove me wrong. I'm fairly open now to change my view on mp3-trading. Seems like i've been fooling around in the naive forrest thinking mp3s and buying albums in the end would balance out. Guest aricz
hehe, shit, bad bad post. I'm at school right now, listening to another fucknut typing like mad besides me, seems like we have a competition going to. Anyway, i do understand if you don't want to answer the questions, this thread have been going on soooo many times, i've been tired as hell lots of times. Now i'm ready to change view, so lets see what it'll be:)
Guest .:::EP
No it's ok.... I did not mean that i actually have the evidence in my hands..... I meant if I had the evidence people would still not care.... people do know that what they are doing harm a lot of artists...they are not stupid..they just don't care !! To your question about sales today... I can only tell you what i hear when i speak with my many contacts that I have build up since 1992 in this scene... yes sales have dropped down drastically..... The reason why i think people do not believe it is because they see a few bands sell a lot of CD's...but even those bands do not sell as good as they did before... Just take a band like Astral. They have gone down at least 30-40% in sales compared to a few years back. I agree that they still do good but the over all situatiion for the less known bands is that they ahve gone down from sales around 5.000 copies to around 1.000 copes..now that's a big drop.... Now some will argue that it's because they dont make good music...but that's not the case... many of these bands stil get top reviews but fail to sell...why? because people download instead of buying !!! So to get back to the good selling bands...well they can be counted on one hand as for the many many other bands out there (at least a few thousand). They are the ones that get hurt....... Not Astral, Infected, GMS, KoxBox, Simon ect. ect Sadly people (mostly the young ones) tend to think that if these bands do well then all the rest of the bands must do just as good and then how can we hurt them?? This is the problem. That people see all bands as equally and think they are all people that seel lots of CD's and fly around the world playing gigs and earn tons of money...... The reality is that maybe 1% do that.... the rest fight a hard fight in trying to make it !!! So shouldn't we suport these struggeling artisst by buying their music? Afterall who will be able to take over when the "established" 1% are gone if we never give them a chance ? Hope I made sense to you.
Guest Unleashed
Just to say there's a live MP3 file of Space Tribe live @ DNA Lounge 11-1-2003. too bad for those MP3 Haters. )))) the rest of the people get the 250 minutes live set that rocks the hell out of our bodies... - I guess since I heard this incredible live set I will not buy the tracks on the set because there is no need!!!Also since I enjoyed the set so much means that when I get the chance to see Space Tribe live I will not even bother to get out of home to see such an incredible live act!!And I bet everyone who has that set will not buy a Space Tribe album ever or go to a see them live too. Same applies to those people that have their albums in MP3. Oh,there's also a good set from Exail for those who like Skazi style. p.s: For those who don't have an High I.Q this was a joke. Guest Unleashed
There are lots of parties every weekend with unknown acts in my country. Guess to how many of those parties me and my friends go?! that's right 0,000,000. U know why we don't go? Because no one ever heard a fucking track from them. Oh no,sorry I think that's beacuse everyone owns a full MP3 collection of secret tracks from them,haha.. I don't know why this discussions only happen in the electronic music scene(80% on the psy scene). I don't even know what to say about the Techno scene, the only people buying techno are DJs. And why you don't see them complain? because the techno artists are all DJs and they make their living Djeing not selling records. And you EP,just wake up if you think anyone can live out of selling CDs. The most you can get out of a single CD you sell(and I mean in very good labels) is less then one dollar/euro. so even if you sell 5000 copies per album you are going nowhere unless you make 3 albums an year,but... people who make more than an album an year generaly don't live long in the industry. Guest r2d2
Unleashed calm down man. If you read it little more carefully you will never hear Elysium say that he is trying to make a living off of selling his music. He has never said that. Do you really think if he wanted to make a living from CD sales he would be making underground music? I think NOT! I don't see anything wrong with an artist being rewarded for his hard work. Why the hell not? Label may be makig money off of his back, distributors and stores will sure try to. I think he (and every other artist) has every right to be upset if people are just downloading his music without buying (if they like it and can afford to do so but choose to spend their money elsewhere). Guest Unleashed
Off course artists have all the right to be rewarded for their work. But seeing the same people post the same shit every time someone mentions mp3 just makes me sick. Dammit,I was just talking with a lot of people in a mp3 trance HUB,check it out.- I just changed their names for obviouse reasons: i have all the distance to goa in original!! good on you red... <[ADSL]hA...> me 2 <)st...> ehh i have them all 2 i onyl have 4,5 and 6 do you know when come the 12? <[ADSL]hA...> n i have all goaheads i just got my shipment of 7 albums yesterday too - original <)stef(> i have a lots of original .... (shut tais toi ..) may i ask which ones???? only 2goahead and 3 pulse an 2 tantrance sure you may ask which ones?? me : album only 4 Magnetrixx - Phase Shift ; Opsis - Time Means Nothing, Spirallianz - Stereopark, Tegma - Encoded / Decoded, Timetech - Notes, Trancefeld - Party Center 800, Virus - Inside prolly not quite your cup of tea arghh all mini/prog :S hehe yeah that's my taste tho... well i like some prog i think i have the most known tegma is ok,vibrasphere is nice, ticon rocks... lone deranger and twisted i will buy the silicon sound when it comes out tho hopefully ill get those from india if its available there i will buy eh knew 3dvision comp (only availalble in fr) 3dvision was nice, but im getting bored of them nice choices Phl....very good choices does this sound like people who don't buy Original stuff?! We have all the albums we want in Mp3 and still buy the originals.... I'm tired of this discussion,If it makes Elysium feel any good count me in not to ever download or share your mp3. Also count me in not to even listen to the damn samples in online shops, spread the word about how good you can be,play your music in my sets or ever listen to you live since I will never know what I was missing and frankly...I don't give a shit. Nothing personal EP, if you or any other guy doesn't want to be known it is not me who will promote you for sure.. And I'm not going to buy any album without first listening to it entirely from start to end... And I feel sorry for those people who don't have access to mp3 and go buy albums only to find they only dig one or two tracks and the rest is crap... Besides, most people who have mp3 and don't buy originals wouldn't buy them anyway if they didn't have mp3. Oh and other thing most of the people who complaint about piracy and copyright issues in music do the opposite with computer software. Complain about mp3 but they have a harddisk full of warez, illegal copied operation systems and whatever you can think off.. whatever,I'm out. Guest HumanW@re
HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHHA---...... "Oh and other thing most of the people who complaint about piracy and copyright issues in music do the opposite with computer software. " Unleashed i agree yeah with all this warez you are getting the work of a lot of people.... not only a single dj/producer.... so you can't be pissing off with all that shit about mp3. Guest r2d2
Unleashed you really don't understand what is being said to you. So you download mp3, preview it and then you buy the original...Elysium has never said this was wrong. As a matter of fact, he wrote several times that it is ok to hear something before you buy. The real problem is not people that do that. The real problem are the ones that choose to download ONLY and not buy. ...and YES there are many people that do this. You may not be one of them but there are many of them that do it. Hope this clears things up a bit.
