Please show some respect...

Hi Guys,

please show a little respect by removing the link which allows the download of my last album "Contact"

This album represents around six months of my work.

Personally I think that it's great that we live in the digital age, have the internet and have such freedom of information. However, please do not use it as a justification to rip off the artists like myself, that bring you the music.

Understand that by not paying the many very talented artists on this scene the tiny amount of money that they get from their record sales, then pretty soon you will soon have no music to listen or party to.

We have some serious music production talent on this scene who are only just able to make a living as the record sales are relatively small. In my experience, Psy-Trance producers put up with scraping by because they love the music. Take away their ability to support themselves and you will starve the golden goose.

If you like someone's music enough to spend your time listening to it please show your respect by buying it.

Cheers,

Bilbo Bagginz (Producer of Cosmosis and Mumbo-Jumbo etc.)

Hello Cosmosis crew , nice work you have in their last album..

Ok about the link thing i have to say that: guys your cd was downloaded from the net before it was released , you know , this is happening to every group , so i guess its pointless to say to remove that link now...

Dont get me wrong though , I totally agree with the whole idea to buy albums and not download but it seems that almost everybody who has access to internet is doing the opposite thing.. Very sad but true!

What will be very serious to do all you that you care for not downloading your music from net , is to start hunt down all the people who share music on the net. Its not sooo hard ..

Start from Dc+ , i believe there are three or four hubs there that contain almost every album produced by psychedelic trance artists..

Then move to soulseek which has a dedicated place called psytrance and has lots stuff as well..If you close those two places then you almost eradicate the problem in all point2point software.. Kazaa , WinMx and other software dont provide much stuff and its difficult to find who is who there. ..But as i said not many people use this software to download music..

Soulseek and Dc+ is easy to spot the pirates , because they work with dedicated hubs , so find this hubs and close them down.. The law gives you that power.. Thats the only way to stop the wide spread of your tracks on the internet... good words and threats do not solve the problem..

ACT NOW !

Well said Baggins!

I dont know why the post havent been deleted, but I think Mars and Children(the guys who run this site) have work up over their ears.. Just contact them and they will remove it, you can find their email on the front page I think.

Thank you for another great album, I hope that even with all this mp3 shit going on that you(and others) will be able to go on making the music we love.

Love and light

I can only agree 100% with you Bilbo. I find it amazing that people are so egoistic..... where's the moderation on this forum gone?

I would volunteer to be a moderator but I seriously think i would moderate too much so people get your fingers out and sign up as moderators so we can get rid of links like that !

Well, having a fast cable modem connection, I can say that I am not in the least bit interested in downloading albums that are available or will be available for sale. Or so called 'unreleased' music for that matter. If you have a net connection at home, then you can afford to buy the music. Support the scene by buying the music, otherwise live with the consequences.

Hey Mr Cosmosis,

just want to say: big respect for your music over the past 8 years!

I have all albums you released on vinyl, and I wanted to buy this one as well, but they didn't release it on vinyl. I did get the Find Your Own Divinity 12" though.

I hope you can get a vinyl release for the mumbo jumbo album, but when I emailed turbotrance about it they said it wouldn't happen :-(((((

is there any way you can influence this?

-Is Bilbo Bagginz your real name, if not what is your real name?

As long as there are copyright laws there will be people breaking them.

END OF STORY.

Along with speeding they have got to be one of the most broken laws on this planet. Why? Because people do not belive in them.

I have just started playing with making music. Maybe five years from now I will have something good enough to release. If so will I care if people copy it? Yes. Why because I will loose some of my Royalties... hmmmmph.

Either that or the people who are in a position to buy it will and those that aren't wont. Those that aren't - I hope they copy it, download it or whatever. I would prefer people to have my music than not have it.

Let me ask you this Cosmosis - If you had the option of having every person in the world with a copy of 'Contact' would you go for it? Fuck I know that for an artist that would be amazing. Imagine if everyone in the world had a copy of your CD. How good would that make you feel. Or would you just prefer the 10.000 (just guessing -could be any amount) people who can afford it have it?

Personally I prefer to support the artists by seeing them play live at parties.

You can always tell a person who comes from a country with a strong $ or £. Try buying stuff internationally when you earn Rand like the Guy in SA posted above. Not only do you pay 3,4,5 + times the real world amount but you pay freight on top. IF you can get it delivered that is....

So remove the links, shut down the sites, kill off the napsters. You will never be able to control copyright without total control over the people. Police state etc. Yummy.

I belive that piracy in Psy Trance isn't malicious. People are not intending to deprive artists of their royalties - they just want the music.

All the pirates need to know now is how much an artist gets from each Cd then they can set up a site with Pay Pal or something and pay the artist his $2 or whatever it is and Download/Copy it without feeling guilty and the artist can put it toward their next Synth...

Who wants to buy my old vinyl.... I only play CD's now...
