acid casualty
hey everybody, ive been away from the psy trance scene for a while, and since ive been gone everything seems to have changed, or maybe its me? i was hoping some of you nice people could help recommend my some new stuff that i might like as much as the old goodies i remember. I have just got the folllowing cds which i actually really like, but i don't want my whole psytrance collection to be quite so minimal/dull AUDIOMATIC - UNDEFINED FREQUENCIES, AUDIOTRAXX - VARIATIONS, PROGRESSIVE MOVEMENT VOL 2, INSANE CREATION - FILESTYLE, ANTIX - WANDERERS ZYCE AND FOX - HYPER CUBE Ive also just got RIDING OUT and PRESSURE POINTS - is it just me or are these cheesier than paul van dyk? not even psytrance IMO i think i know what i really want - full on psytrance WITHOUT the noise; i like the clear heavy beat of the progressive, if only it could be a touch faster with some of those cheesy sci fi voice samples thrown in. thats what i really really want. if this isn't a sub genre, then it bloody should be! tracks that i know i love are as follows, is there any recommendations that any of you lot can give to help me find some more? thankyou very very very much for bothering to read my first ever post. :-) NECTON: - PORNO POLTERGEIST, FUNK FACTOR, NATURE NATION, HERE TO YOUR EAR, MY MUD IS BUBBLING LOGIC BOMB: - KILOBYTE BANDIT, HUND, MARAUDER, SHADOW OF BEAST HUX FLUX: - IDIOT, NUMBERS, NUMEROUS NUMERICS, TABULATOR, KERNEL PANIC, LEX REX PERPLEX AURICULAR: - SNATCHER, IN AT DEEP END GORLATION CORPORATION: - PLASTIC ZEUS MAGNETRIXX: - WIRED PSYSEX - SURVIVAL KIT i also like Maskalin - Way Of Life, and Shiva Chandra - Auricular i think i have now bored you enough, any help will be very gratefully received. help me find a third way between full on and progressive please!!! - ive been recommended True Lies and Ace Ventura what d'ya reckon? thanks again. buzzman
Albums: Freaked Frequency-FF syndrome. Not so "deep" But very "non noisy" fullon, with progressions and not the typical fullon bass Bitmonx and Fabio-plugged. Was the album comming to my mind when listening to audiomatic. A little more progressive, but i think you'll like it Day.din-Speakers corner And yes, Ace ventura-rebirth, highly recommended! If you like Zyce and Fox, check out Gaudium-So called life. And maybe AKD-progressing(a bit more melodic, but still the same boat IMO)

Samples are not always the best way to go... I think Oopie's recommendations are definitely up there Both are very solid releases, in the general psy-trance genre! But of course we all have different preferences! maybe u can also try: Braincell - Transformation Of Reality ED: but its not really progressive sounding... for some more progressive sounding (not antix prog) u can try: Sensient - Pressure Optimal & AntiFluoro (both CDs are really crispy souding) or Krumelur - Paramoral
Oopie
hey also you ought to check out the compilation "tales from the forest". there's a few hux flux/logic bomb tunes on that one! "runtime error" by logic bomb is my 2nd fav'e track right after "shadow of..."

RTP
AUDIOTRAXX - VARIATIONS,You mean Audiomatrixx - Variations ... a really good album btw i think i know what i really want - full on psytrance WITHOUT the noise; i like the clear heavy beat of the progressive, if only it could be a touch faster with some of those cheesy sci fi voice samples thrown in. thats what i really really want. if this isn't a sub genre, then it bloody should be!Well, judging from the list of tracks that you say you like you are somewhat on my line anyway ... Auricular, Shiva Chandra, Magnetrixx ... that's what I like and would have recommended. You should get their albums though. And since your nickname suggests that you know about the label Acid Casualties it's pointless to recommend this one aswell...

Pandemonium
Yup, everybody hates it, but I love it I really do beleive that alot of people found this uninspiring and boring (as stated in my review of the album), but I also think because of the bad hype around the artist and the album, alot of others didnt give it a fair chance and just jumped on the bandwagon and didnt like it. acid casualty
you said you wanted fullon, so I provided a basically fullon list, but most of the stuff you like isnt fullon at all. well what i actually said was: "i like the clear heavy beat of the progressive, if only it could be a touch faster with some of those cheesy sci fi voice samples thrown in. thats what i really really want. if this isn't a sub genre, then it bloody should be!" ...and... "help me find a third way between full on and progressive please!!!" Then i listed the following tunes that i really liked: NECTON: - PORNO POLTERGEIST, FUNK FACTOR, NATURE NATION, HERE TO YOUR EAR, MY MUD IS BUBBLING LOGIC BOMB: - KILOBYTE BANDIT, HUND, MARAUDER, SHADOW OF BEAST HUX FLUX: - IDIOT, NUMBERS, NUMEROUS NUMERICS, TABULATOR, KERNEL PANIC, LEX REX PERPLEX AURICULAR: - SNATCHER, IN AT DEEP END GORLATION CORPORATION: - PLASTIC ZEUS MAGNETRIXX: - WIRED PSYSEX - SURVIVAL KIT i also like Maskalin - Way Of Life, and Shiva Chandra - Auricular this was kind of the thing i was after. but thanks anyway p.s how would u describe the above tracks then? It's just sooo boring.. I like the "Deeper" track, but it's more dance/trance than psy fullon... The rest is WAY to cheesy
Ormion
I have the perfect answer for you my friend! Amoeba records It's basically fat full on with progressive elements.
Pandemonium
well what i actually said was: "i like the clear heavy beat of the progressive, if only it could be a touch faster with some of those cheesy sci fi voice samples thrown in. thats what i really really want. if this isn't a sub genre, then it bloody should be!" ...and... "help me find a third way between full on and progressive please!!!" Looks like you forgot about that fullon part. i think i know what i really want - full on psytrance WITHOUT the noise; i like the clear heavy beat of the progressive, if only it could be a touch faster with some of those cheesy sci fi voice samples thrown in. thats what i really really want. if this isn't a sub genre, then it bloody should be! If its fullon that you are after then my list above should suffice, If its progressive your after then I would once again recommend (as others have) Zenon records or artists such as Sensient, Cujurious One, and SunControlSpecies. Str8 psychedelic with no bullshit, Braincell and the Glowing flame crew.
