Try "Nexus 6" by silicon sound, by far his best track for me. i think silicon sound has better sounds than talamasca and nomad, and the production is very good. As far as being original, well i don't know if you guys make music but from my experience it is very hard to do something different from what other people are doing. It is also very hard to make good melodies in my opinion. I used to think the same way before i started making psytrance, i was very demanding, but now i have more respect for the work that artists do because i saw it was hard to make what they do... Just because GMS make a track that sounds like GMS - would you still not get it? It is only natural that newer artists will end up having influences of existing artists - especially if they work with existing artists. Personally if anyone makes a track [album] that sounds like GMS, Nomad, Talamasca, Absolum etc of course I am going to get it - cause they kick ass. Who cares what the name is attributed to the track. Judge each track you hear by it's own merits. Is it a good track? - Yes. Then play it. Quote

It is one of the newcomers artists that really kicks with his sounds quality .. I do not like some of his tracks and he knows it , however I really respect his work on his tunes . I understand that some ppl don't like this type of psytrance ( and luckily we have different tastes ) but this is not a reason to stay stupid things . Johannes doesn't deserve stupidities like this .. Critics are always welcome by artists ONLY when they are constructives . Quote

For people who like that style (like me Procyonic mate Danger up there), I can see that Jo's shit is da BOMB!! - And the 2 ambient tracks on the album are luuuurvely!! Think of it this way...he hasn't been doing this for so long...he's still evolving and I'm waiting to hear the next step cuz I already feel it's gonna be more to my liking. Quote

Guest sandrookie Posted March 3, 2003 Posted March 3, 2003 Oaay I saw Johannes in Belgium playing for 300 people last saturday and..... it was a perfect performance. Indeed the production is excellent. He started playing at 06.00 in the morning. On the massive sound system in the small venue the crystall clear sound was amazing. Finally organizer are booking live acts in Belgium, and this was one of the best performances I saw here. Maybe some people don't like the style too much, but the 300 people went just mad. Silicon sound makes perfect party music IMO. I don't like astrix and GMS stuff on party's all the time, but this was just different. Check him out if he's playing in your country, it's worth it!
