psytones
Where can I read about DJ stuff in this forum, and where can I write related topics? Why hasn't anyone bothered to answer this yet?
Nurbs
^^ Ya, indeed. Reopen the tech talk or merge it with music production and stuff.
NEMO.BOFH
Music Making & DjIng? Ill ask what Mars thinks. If not there are really nice forums out there already with almost all the answers covered. I can strongly recommend www.djtechtools.com for the digital dj (Check out their forum, its full with cool stuff)

Guest D N H
Question: Spiritual section, gone? forever and ever? indeed. offtopic was too much, but a spiritual/cultural/ecology section is a great miss. cause it is a part of the whole psy world. mars
Problem: I Can't send PM's! I tried to send a PM to Nemo three times but when i click send it doesn't appear in my sent items folder, is this because your inbox is full or could it be another reason. Anyways, I was asking for a link to the spam/offtopic forum you mentioned above in this thread (i kinda miss the offtopic here) could you PM it to me please? The PMs do get sent. If you want to store it anyway there is a checkbox for that at the bottom of the PM editor....I swear
mars
indeed. offtopic was too much, but a spiritual/cultural/ecology section is a great miss. cause it is a part of the whole psy world. Yeah but at the time, all OffTopicmen would have immediately migrated to it. And it was also quite full of OffTopic things itself. If people behave, maybe it will come back. Ormion
Petition to bring the reviews database back It's already half of February and only two 2009 releases have been reviewed so far. (And actually Psykovsky-Da Budet is not even a review). Many 2008 important releases never been reviewed. The reviews section is going down! Many members that used to write reviews don't post anymore, other members don't have time to review stuff (including me), why not bring the reviews database back? I don't know if this is possible with the current site layout but two things: 1) The real advantage of Psynews was the reviews database. No other site had something similar since sites like psydb.net doesn't have reviews section and discogs is too official. A lot of ppl (including me) first became aware of Psynews because of the database. 2) Like I'd said many times before the current forum-review type is kind of problematic (not only in Psynews, but in every similar site). Why? Well because the only way to comment to a release is to be already a topic about it. And the only way to open a topic is to write a full review. The reviews database was very easy to browse and write comments or if a member wanted to a full review. I can understand that with the amount of releases today is not that easy, but I'm sure more members (including me again) are willing to help. After all writing a tracklist and uploading a photo is easier that a full review. Best regards Ormion.
Basilisk
The simple solution would be to change moderation policy and allow volunteers to post basic release details (cover, track listing, label of release, maybe some sale links, but no promo text). Nemo? Mars? It might kick things into action again... I usually don't mind writing a sentence or two when the mood strikes me... but I can't seem to find the time to do anything more detailed these days, and I suspect that goes for a lot of people. The people here who share the same taste as me atleast know what to get
Anoebis
I agree with Basilisk here. If someone feels like posting stuff like Mr. Ektoplazm here, they can do... So at least: - tracklist - links to shops - picture is possible and at least 3 lines with why you like it, and why you don't like it Maybe someone else will write a longer review later... (and also, this is good for bad releases, writing a review of 30 lines of a cd you cd you don't like is madness)
amphiton
I also agree, detailed reviews are good, but who has the time to write them? I could easily write a few sentences.
FTP
Cool, it's been a years I've read the whole review. Last 3 sentences do the work for me.

Anoebis
So can we do it? I have a bunch of releases that have not been reviewed here. Well, as a moderator I say you can do that, I will ask permission to Mars, but i'm sure he'll agree, as this is the only way to have more reviews, and to have more activity
Ormion
Already posted the first one. (Furious-Supremacy) More coming soon.
Anoebis
I talked with Fabien about it and well, if you do it like with your furious review it IS perfect Try to write at least 5 lines of comments with every new review... like that people can see how it sounds, what tracks are good or bad, and what elements or things makes the album good or bad And of course, tracklist and cover and if possible links are appreciated as well
