ouroboros Posted February 24, 2003 Share Posted February 24, 2003 i posted this in off topic as well...sorry for the double post but i want as many people to see this as possible ok, i may have a line on a venue for a weekly or bi-weekly night a small club on long island. my question is: are there any people here who would be interested in such a thing? i would be looking for dj's, artists, and deco/visual people. also im looking to get an idea of if people would even go to such a thing. it would be during the week though as i wont be able to get the place on a weekend. like i said...its a small club, so we dont need a lot of people in there to make it good. even 40 - 50 people would make the place feel pretty full. it is large enough to have live acts play though. its not that far from the city...maybe 35- 40 mins tops. and the long island rail road stops within walking distance...although it might seem a little far in bad weather. i have not brought it up with the cub owners yet...i wanted to put some feelers out first before i bothered them with the idea. i make no presumptions as this being something to rival tsunami or omni tribe....but it would be something to do on a regular basis that wont be expensive. i dont want admission to be any more than 5 or 7 bucks, although given the lack of alcohol consumption at psy events i dont know that ill be able to meet that particular goal. anyway...any coments or input people have would be greatly appreciated. thnx everyone. Guest arrya Posted February 27, 2003 Share Posted February 27, 2003 hey ouroboros , your post sounds great, one friendly suggestion - im a regular member on isratrance, and quite active on the u.s part of the forum.i strongly recommend that you take the two minutes or so that is required for registration, becuase the support you could build up there is incredible. there are several people on that website who would be willing to help you, im sure, and the vibe is great. finally, the only reason they ask you to register is to keep out people who are there just to create trouble,it is an actively moderated board so the discussions there are legitimate, serious, and interesting. im sorry if this sounds like an advertisment for isratrance, i really have nothing to gain except for you getting the support you need and starting a weekly scene here in new york .. arrya Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
