Guest psyfi Posted January 12, 2002 Posted January 12, 2002 yes, yes , yes!!! german telekom finally sent me my dsl modem and splitter. spend half the day installing it. not that easy if your network cable is to short and a longer one is too expensive. had to do a alternative installation with a normal phone cable..... then i didn't have the win cd rom for the f*cking drivers. called a friend, got the cd........ now everything is running properly and this is the firts site i'm visiting!! it's so faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaast. (i only had a 33.6 modem before) ps: sory for the off topic but i'm sooooo glad!!!! Quote

Guest Izik Posted January 13, 2002 Posted January 13, 2002 mmm.. well thats funny ,,, i just got a hit by lightning strike the other day stright to my computer !!!! thru the ADSL modem (thru the Ethernet port) ... lucky me only ze Ethernet port got zapped (built it...) ... and not the entire motherboard with 70gig audio HDs + new album ...+ PT + G4 i sugest to hide your computer in your closet when there's a storm ... ps. its sooooo ssslllllllllooooowwww surfing / d/l back on 2k/sec from 300k/sec ... i wait to T1 my2c Quote

Guest vasyachkin Posted January 14, 2002 Posted January 14, 2002 i thought my DSL was fast until i experienced T3 connection at my college. well when the T3 is not clogged up in traffic from all other users and when you're browsing a website on a fast server its really incredible. it downloaded AOL instant messenger (which is like just under 1 meg) so fast that i didn't even notice it happen. i thought it was some kind of error the screen flashed and that was it, but in fact the download was complete )) however, when enough people (read hundreds) get on it and everybody goes napstering and such it can slow down CONSIDERABLY )) Quote
