rino Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Warp Records. Pick virtually any CD with record label's name stamped on it, and you should feel at home. Quote

Rotwang Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 a good place to start (with Drukqs in the back of my head) would be LP5 That's actually one of my least favourite of their albums. But then I don't think much of Drukqs at all. Quote

Kryll Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 That's actually one of my least favourite of their albums. But then I don't think much of Drukqs at all. when it comes to my own preference, i share your thought well.. perhaps not my least favorite, but they peaked with Second Bad Vilbel to me, after that it went straight downhill (imo) Quote
Rotwang Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Personally, if you're after IDM rather than ambient, I don't think it gets any better than Chiastic Slide, Chichlisuite, EP7, Gantz Graf and Untilted. Quote
Mindbender Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 That's actually one of my least favourite of their albums. But then I don't think much of Drukqs at all. Different people, different tastes... For me Drukqs and LP5 are the best two IDM albums out there... But I am not a connoiseur of the scene. And Board of Canada slots into the chill-out section in my head. Quote

RAH Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 weird thought came up to me while reading this IDM .. aint that acronym for Intelligent Dance Music ? that's presumably because your neurons dance more than your feet. for the pile: Funkcarma, Guarner, Legiac (*), Loess, Miles Tillman, Luke Abbott (*), Tycho (a bit like boards of canada) Quote
Kryll Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 to be specific about it IDM = Rephlex stuff but okay, just being an asshole bringing op the pigeonholing behind IDM Quote
