Agneton
While surfing on Discogs, I sometimes stumble upon weird and entirely incorrect entries. Some of them seem to be made by totally fake and amateurish artists, just wanting to promote themselves, while others just make funny reviews having nothing to do with the music. These are things that happen more often since the new version has gone online, but the good thing is that it's at least fun to discover 'n read all that crap... If you find any of these pages, post them here, I'll start with one that looks pretty suspicious... dj special k! http://www.discogs.com/artist/dj+special+k
mars
Sorry to write this, but it appears Discogs is no longer what it used to be. Relevance of information is no longer checked, and the site behaves as a wiki where anyonoe can change anything anytime. For instance, we had a bogus dupe Goasia release a couple of weeks ago that we had to ask to get it removed.

All compilations get the credits from the compilers unless otherwise wanted... This is the biggest bull shit EVER in my eyes on a music site +1 Plus it annoys me that I receive internal Discogs' messages regarding changes in releases in my collection or items for sale in my wantlist! That's obviously wasting of the their disc space & my time (to delete it). Too bad...
Agneton
Seems like you are talking about this one, Mars? http://www.discogs.com/release/1444861 I get the impression the soundmute team is a bit too enthusiastic there

And to make things clear, this was made by Goasia for sure... It's weird you can still see it, it was deleted by Ukiro? How come?
Agneton
It's weird you can still see it, it was deleted by Ukiro? How come? It's a draft, those are not a part of the database, but still you can look them up when typing the right terms in the search field... More or less the same thing happened with the ancient Crop Circle album, which was still viewable on discogs although it had been "erased" properly... Thanks Anoebis, that had me in splits :clapping: :clapping: The artwork is a real hoot (no offence to said niece), the image of that HP CD especially. Weirdness, submitter's given it a 1/5 rating. Basilisk
Lol, so I can put all my promo-mixes online now...? Not unless you want PKS stalking you Yeah, there is little in the way of quality control on Discogs any more... and without mods volunteering their time it takes forever to do everything. I wonder whether the guys at the top really thought this through and whether there are plans to change things around.

Mike A
discogs died the moment they made it wiki i only use it for the marketplace
PKS
Not unless you want PKS stalking you i'm not longer active in Discogs. For me, Discogs died the day it became a wiki and became quantity over quality. So, no more stalking
XpandoZ
Wow.. I didn't know about that wiki stuff. So anyone can add anything? It doesn't get a pending status so it can be checked or something? I still browse the site from time to time cause I can't live without it when I want to know a certain artist's discography etc. Also this shouldn't be there either: http://www.discogs.com/release/456208
abasio
It died for me when they made it really annoying to view my collection. Instead of having it how they used to, full screen & easy to browse. Now it's relegated into the side of the screen in a thin strip & unbrowsable. Maybe there is a setting I can unset like the email alerts but it's just not convenient anymore
