I just need to check something out.....

What do you people think about connection between psytrance and depression? Are these things related ? Do you have opinion on this?

Yes.

I think I've been less depressed after starting the whole psy-business. But I think it has to do more with other things in my life that were changing too. And partially I started listening to psy because of these other changes, including my view on life...

That there is correlation between psy and depression doesn't mean that there is a causal relationship.

hmm, this is a very good question I asked myself also often times. but not in a sense of the connection between psy and depression more in a sense of psy and fear or let's say paranoia.

with psy music and drugs sometimes things are happening I cannot understand with my rational brain. I think most of you guys are knowing what I'm talking about.

Although I'm curious and open minded about non rational events I feel sometimes a lot of fear or even paranoia in remembering what happened let's say at a big open air party. But it depends how strong I feel for myself.

Coming back to the connection between psy and depression: too much e causes long term depression, so it not necessarily psy as a reason.

I don't see the connection. 604 was all about spirituality and finding yourself. Song titles hardly dealt with depressive moods and the tenor in trax was mostly uplifting. Hence, hallucinogetic; move away from normal life and enter another dimension, probably colorful and with happy ppl dancing the nite away with a smile.

Dunno what the message is in progressive/minimal. That clean and sober style is so far away from colorful psychedelica and hallucinogetic effect that i don't deem it a succesor to 604.
