illusidation
Hi there... I do not know much about the "scene". The names for the types of musics and all that kind of stuff. I do not even know if this is the correct forum for what I am looking for. I'm a ageing raver from the early 80s, now a family man and long ago fell out of the music life.... I still love it though... but with kids and all your priority change. Anyway.. I am getting sick of listening to the same albums all the time and was hoping that you people could point me to some good music that I could listen to. Like I said I am older now so (what we called Doof, I think you guys call it Goa now? Is prob not what I am looking for ... might be best to describe it.... I like mellow, SLOW electronic music, with heavy deep beats inside it. Basically slow and groovy and deep thumps. Recently I listened to Asura - Code Eternity, Infinium 2000 - Loved it.. this is very much like what I am talking about... slow, calm, almost relaxing.. but still has the deep base sounds of the party you just left.. or in my case left long ago. I also recently found this one in a 2nds storeDistant System - Spiral Empire, Celestial Dragon (Feb 2008) (i foudn this site by searching for those albums + forum in google) If anyone could recommend me some more albums like that or maybe tell me what the genre they are from is called... I would be thankful. Cheers Also feel free to list any albums you think are worth checking out... Deep, Trancy, hallucinogenic Mellow music
Basilisk
Hello, and welcome. It sounds like you could do well to check out much of the Ultimae Records catalogue: http://www.discogs.com/label/Ultimae+Records The genre? People typically refer to this stuff as chill out, psychedelic downtempo, or maybe deep trance (depending on whether the beat is a regular 4 by 4 kick or something more breakbeat-oriented). Some names to look up (aside from what you will find on Ultimae): Kenji Williams/ABA Structure Androcell (AKA Distant System) M-Sphere (both his albums are downbeat trance) Vibrasphere (they have both upbeat dance stuff and luxurious chill) Puff Dragon Chilled C'Quence Saafi Brothers Kuba Galaxy (Science Of Ecstasy, his latest album under this name, will likely appeal to you in a big way) Bluetech/Evan Marc (one project is pure chill with a jazzy touch, the other is deep trance/techno) By the sounds of it you might also enjoy the netlabel Thinner: http://www.thinner.cc/ Enjoy
Anoebis
as said here, Ultimae is the closest for sure (Aes Dana uses that 4/4 beat as well in many tracks) But also EXACTLY the style of Asura are: Peace Therapy 1 Peace Therapy 2 both superb cds imo All around 90-120 BPM

karan129
I know you're not looking for Goa, but this album was released in '99 so you might not have heard it, Blue Planet Corporation's Blue Planet album might be to your taste.
