First attempt at a psy-chill track

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

My first attempt at composition, arrangement & mixing of a track. I switched my sub-genre of interest from goatrance to psychill around 3 years ago.. and the varied existence of this sub-genre has been amazing me ever since..

Anyways, I saw a few, supportively followed up "New Track/Feedback Required" posts.. Just like other amateur producers, I'd like to know if what am doing makes sense to anybody else.. Also, if my track seems weak in a particular area of production, arrangement or mastering, I would be glad to know..

Here are the links to the track(128 kbps MP3) :-

Thanks all for your time.. Boom.

I understand, its posted in the wrong section.. but the point was too gather some technical feedback on the subject. Hope that explains..

Unless this thread was moved here from some other forum, I think it's in the right one.

The idea and atmosphere are good. You've got interesting sounds, although the mix as a whole is kind of dark. It could use some changes though - the whole length is just playing off one idea. It's more like a jam than a completed track.

Definitely good for a first attempt, keep working on it.

Thanks Veracohr for the input.. Embarassed, but I loved the way you phrased it "It's more like a jam than a completed track." Lol.. True that.

I kind of wanted the track to die just once.. cos I tried to initiate the track with a long 'evolving' intro.. Don't really know how that went..

Anyways, I always find myself short of an explanation when production/creativity/arrangement come around in question. Simply put, "Does everyone out there want originality, pristine production, something new or do they want something enjoyable, be it a remixed version of a 70's track with tasteful work done on it.."

Yeah like veracohr said, it's a really nice atmosphere you create up until 3-4 minutes, but it get's a little to repetitive with no exiting changes that graps your attention... But you should definitely work a whole track out of this, it could be really cool! keep it up :)

Its sounds fine to me. Good work for a first attempt :) It just needs some variation and improving the melodies a bit would help too.
