pifpafpof Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Timecode Records & Principles of Flight presents: Artist: Principles of Flight Title: Chaos Opera Label: Timecode Records Distribution: Saikosounds Format: CD (digipack) Release: TBA Catalog: TCCD026 more info, incl samples: http://www.principlesofflight.com http://www.myspace.com/principlesofflight Promotext: "Once upon a time in a far distant land, a land where the only colors of life were black and white, a land where laughs and smiles were forbidden and where clowns were sent to dungeons, a land where life had to obey strict rules and where amusement was controlled by a militia, lived a little girl, Eleanor." Timecode presents the bright new spark of the psychedelic night scene: Principles of Flight. After the world-wide acclaim for their first album, Night Time Lullabies (2006 BooM! Records), Principles of Flight have decided to further explore the idea behind this release, and work on an extraordinary concept album entitled Chaos Opera. Remy, 24, and Pierre, 26, have developed a unique blend of tech-trance rhythms, psychedelic groove, and night time landscapes which can best be described as "psytechno", and which has been praised by trancers around the world. As new ambassador of the prestigious South African label Timecode, Principles of Flight have reached an incredible level of production and composed a true masterpiece which goes far beyond just music. With almost two year of intensive design, Chaos Opera is far more mature than its predecessor. It tells the story of Eleanor and Edward, two twins living in a colorless world, and the incredible journey which Edward undertakes to look for his sister in the Land of the Dead. A whole world came out of the imaginations of Pierre, Remy, and Nicolas Delort, the artist behind Chaos Opera's visual universe. Chaos Opera comes in a luxury digipack triptych with a virtuoustically illustrated 24 page booklet which contains both English and Japanese translations of Pierre Delort's original Chaos Opera story. Tracklist (chapters): 01 Into the Lands of Black and White 02 Chaos Opera 03 The Queen of the Dead (feat. Talpa) 04 Eleonor's Theme 05 Cerberus 06 Charon the Ferryman 07 The Tavern, The Rebels, And The Secret Oath 08 A Gruesome Plan 09 The Black Mass 10 Edward to the Rescue! 11 The Chase 12 A Colorful End Credits: Music Written & Produced by Remy Maurin & Pierre Delort (track3 with Goran Juric) Original Story Written by Pierre Delort Japanese Translation by Yuka Tanaka Artwork by Nicolas Delort - www.nicolasdelort.com Mastering by: Johannes Regnier Links: http://www.principlesofflight.com http://www.myspace.com/principlesofflight http://www.reverbnation.com/principlesofflight http://www.timecode.co.za http://www.myspace.com/timecoderecords Quote

abasio Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Just given this a quick once over & I like what I have heard so far. It sounds like a perfect progression from the first album. It still has that great story like atmosphere with nice contemporary touches and is pretty dark without ever being dark psy if you know what I mean. It is very different from Nighttime lullabies though, more chaotic, more in fitting with Timecode (which is a compliment:)). I hope to write down some longer thoughts soon! Quote
Insejn Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Holy shit! What a hard-hitting album Listened to it one time and I love it! :posford: :posford: :clapping: :clapping: Quote
abasio Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 This is the best thing I have heard this year! By a long way too. As a fan of downtempo this is really something. I have only heard it 4 or 5 times but my god it's great. Loving it! Quote
TheJoker Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Wow, this album is fucking amazing! It's way beyond Nightime lullabies, which I found quite dull to be honest. This is a different beast all together: Dark, funky, hard, fun and INTENSE is how I would describe this album. Hats of to POF for this one! :posford: Quote
bwhale Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Listened to the samples and sorry guys, but this sounds like crap. Quote
Guest antic Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Listened to the samples and sorry guys, but this sounds like crap. Why am I not surprised by that comment? Jeez, is there any mod to kick & ban this sad person? Cinos was at least funny in his negativism, but this guy seems to be just stupid... Quote
bwhale Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 To the contrary I think you guys are stupid. How is this good? Please enlighten me. There's a loud dirty beat. All the sounds sound unpolished and noisy from the samples. Maybe it would shake your dancefloors or something but it's got little musical merit beyond that. It sounds like a regression from music 10 years ago tbh. Quote
