Agneton
Astronomic Trance has some really cool tracks. It's a combination of proto Full On tunes (you know, like the stuff they released on those Hommega comps in 98...really oldschool in each case but with less emphasize on melodies, imo) and some really dark advanced Nitzho tunes. The Chemical Synthesis - Green Sunrise track is wonderful. It's one of those rare night-nitzhonot tracks that really works well on the dancefloor (as i could experience myself). Awesome breaks, rhythms and sounds, and NO cheezy melodies whatsoever! I'd buy it -well in fact I already bought it lol-, but don't expect a melody overload in each case! Agneton
Yes thats what I mean ... tracks like the Phenomenal - Flag tune definately belong to that kind of music!
Anoebis
Various - Marc van der Vlugt & Dry Ice - Subsonic Meltdown http://www.discogs.com/Marc-van-der-Vlugt-.../release/366144 Mediocre cd imo, rather noisy and darkish/acidic old school Various - Astronomic Trance http://www.discogs.com/Various-Astronomic-.../release/313187 I would say crappy produced rather unmelodic israeli night trance, totally not noisy and acidic as the one before... But ok, Elias is more into this kind of music, so he can help you more Various - Goa - Tel Aviv http://www.discogs.com/Various-Goa-Tel-Aviv/release/65786 Fantastic cd, if you like simple old school goa trance tunes with deep golden melodies! Various - Psychédélique Transition - Andromède http://www.discogs.com/Various-Psych%C3%A9.../release/183941 Decent cd, filled with acidic melodic goa trance, all early Asia 2001. Music itself is pretty good (the ideas at least) but the sound and the quality is simply OLD Various - Psychedelic Beer II http://www.discogs.com/Various-Psychedelic...I/release/55485 Early progressive. Pretty minimal boring music imo Various - Psychedelic Family http://www.discogs.com/Various-Psychedelic.../release/313419 Decent acidic pretty amateurish old school goa trance, main focus is certainly not on the melodies, reminds me somehow on early battle buddhas Various - Rabtu Gawa - Paradise Trance http://www.discogs.com/Various-Rabtu-Gawa-.../release/363648 Very good tribal goa trance, hypnotic trancy and acidic at some points, specially the last track is SUPERB Various - Survival Of The Trippest http://www.discogs.com/Various-Survival-Of.../release/362913 Very good cd, partly very acidic/acid trance goa trance Tim Schuldt style, partly more blisfull goa style Electric Universe/Etnice Various - The Forum http://www.discogs.com/Various-The-Forum/release/194252 Mediocre cd, the Cybel tracks are really good though, the rest rather harsh and not so musical Various - UO@604 (Unknown Object At: Six Zero Four) http://www.discogs.com/Various-UO604-Unkno.../release/231937 No idea about this one
Ormion
The Goa-Tel Aviv comp is super!
InFecTeD_gOa
THX A LOT ANOEBIS & ORMION!!! Various - Marc van der Vlugt & Dry Ice - Subsonic Meltdown I will remove it from my wantlist. The tracklist does not inspire me. Various - Astronomic Trance Chemical Synthesis - Final Fantasy Agneton helped me a lot on these items. Elias thx;) Various - Goa - Tel Aviv I like old school. I have most of the tracks, except 4. Oforia - Dimensional Exploration: I think this track should resemble his album DELIRIOUS. P. Cok J.P. : I never liked his tracks except this one: Double Doper (great track!!) Amir Dagan - Silver Angel: unknown?? Guy Sebbag - Reality Values: I think it should resemble floating goa trance (maybe). Various - Psychédélique Transition - Andromède I'm not a fan early ASIA 2001. Sound is too old. If this album resembles Chap.2, I'll ignore it. Various - Psychedelic Beer II I was really disappointed by Psychedelic Beer 1. I had found it boring. I don't keep in my wantlist. Various - Psychedelic Family I listen to battle buddhas' tracks, in order to have an idea. Twin Sharkfins is GREAT album!!! I don't know why but I never dared to listen to this album. Now, I regret because it's really good. I lost time Thanx Jos Various - Rabtu Gawa - Paradise Trance I read the review on psynews and it's a CD that intrigues me greatly. Various - Survival Of The Trippest OK, I didn't like Survival Of The Trippest 3. The 2 had some very good tracks like: Mama Indica - Maria Sabinas, Cosmoon - Sleep Paralysis, The Pollinator - Clone III, Morphem - Nothing Left, Astrological - Stingray, Etnica - Moon Influence, Paradise Connection - 111 Belltrees, Four Carry Nuts - Grapefruit, Psychaos - Psychochemical Age. I think, I yield to temptation!! Various - The Forum It is a mysterious CD? I tried to find samples from youtube and I found this: I don't know if it's the same style? Various - UO@604 (Unknown Object At: Six Zero Four) As the title is a UO (Unknown Object) I know only Divinorum - Antigravity (melodic goa trance) maybe others tracks are same style. Agneton
Hey Chris! About the Forum CD, don't get misleaded there! The mix that is on The Forum CD is an un-melodic edit of the Youtube vid you found. You'd better grab the CD Single (click here!) of that Shell Shock track, which contains both radio edit, full version and breakbeat edit of this awesome track. It's one of my all time favorites and it's tooo bad almost nobody out there recognized it's beauty...I believe I even spoke with Jos and he wasn't aware of it at that time ... Furthermore the Forum CD contains one other cool track, i.e. Allto-Allto. It has a great melody near the end, really eastern and melodic. For the rest it's indeed not the best CD out there, but I'd keep an eye on it anyway because of Cybel and Allto...and you know, it has collectors value! Always attractive! It belongs to the Delirious style, like you mentioned. P.Cok is kinda cheesy, but it's very catchy IMO. Amir Dagan's track is the worst of the compilation IMO, too cheesy nitzho for my taste. Guy Sebbag-Reality Values is one the hidden old school gems. Sooo beautiful! Like you guessed is indeed floating Goa and also very nostalgic. The compilation alone worth for this track! Anakoluth
I bought Astronomic Trance just for one reason: Chemical Synthesis - Restoration. That's one hell of a tune.
rino
Various - UO@604 (Unknown Object At: Six Zero Four) As the title is a UO (Unknown Object) I know only Divinorum - Antigravity (melodic goa trance) maybe others tracks are same style. There's an actual discogs review for this one. In plain english as well. Must be a new thang, writting 'em in that language. Other than that, V/A Goa Tel Aviv is loaded with old school israeli classics, most of which are must owns, so if your collection lacks some tunes which made our grin larger back in the day, get it. V/A Survival of the trippest is cool, but the only reason why it gains points in coolness is because the other releases you listed are atrocious, and that counts in the music, front and back sleeve, barcode and the CD surface... It has some great tracks courtesy of the old masters off High Society Records, so if you know what kind of sound they delivered, odds are you'll like it. Anyways, don't miss out on the Tel Aviv compilation!
Anoebis
Well, a question from my side, anyone heard this cd interely? http://www.saikosounds.com/english/display...ase.asp?id=7729 It sounds like great twisted and very psychedelic forest stuff judging on the samples, is it really that good? is there some storytelling in the tracks? I haven't the album, but I have some compilation tracks by him. It's really good, very atmospheric. It kind of reminds me the first Darkpsy album ''Fear''.
