Lemmiwinks
Before psytrance I was into hardcore... and before hardcore I was into eurodance. Well, when I look back some melody structures were like trance so it's all related in the end if you ask me. anyway, if you'd have to choose a top 5 what would it be? Here's mine: 1. DJ Bobo - Love Is All Around 2. Captain Hollywood Project - Impossible 3. 4. Ice MC - Rainy Day 5. Maxx - Getaway how bout you?

RTP
well, my beginnings were with stuff like E-Rotic - Fred, Come to Bed (we used to make fun of it in school) ... and then Dune - Million Miles from Home and Mr. President - Coco Jambo and all the other stuff on the Bravo Hits CDs ... I actually don't wanna get into that... and later there was the better stuff, some of it which I still like today: Dance 2 Trance - Power of American Natives : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9UsNZIInjo ... and it was exactly this version, the '98 one! 11 years ago, I was 13 back then, yep, yep, that was my favourite song ... aaah, the memories, definitely the best one Then there was Vertigo - Magic Eyes : ... loved that one! DJ Quicksilver deserves a mention too! Here's Escape to Paradise : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FViRmIqCQY4 And Music Instructor ... omg, I loved them, still like them ... they were the only ones with an Abe (from Oddworld, does anybody know?) video and I was a crazy Oddworld fan back then (still love the first two Abe games!) ... here's Get Freaky : And then there was Phil Fuldner - The Final. Absolutely cool tune because I got such a strong memory of it. This was the first time I expereinced sensations from actually simple sounds and got to see that electronic music can be art : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wirlQI4GD04
abasio
Not quite sure what Eurobeat is but I feel like it is the pop form of pop trance that IM could onloy hope to be. I was a big fan of
psytones
Not quite sure what Eurobeat is but I feel like it is the pop form of pop trance that IM could onloy hope to be. I was a big fan of Shiiit I should have included this on my list: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=53dp5ZmSXH0 I can't believe RTP wubbed his post *Love my brother And HELL YEAH !! Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee was tha shiii.. I mean FART!! I loved that game SO much I actually had a talk with my (real ) brother about it the other day. He was telling me about a guy who posted a impressive speedrun. Here you go!! :D To bad the Abe voice isn't the English one, but still yo kool. And that track, I bought it on CDS. Wonder where it is today? Oh the good old VIVA days
Anakoluth
And Music Instructor ... omg, I loved them, still like them ... they were the only ones with an Abe (from Oddworld, does anybody know?) video and I was a crazy Oddworld fan back then (still love the first two Abe games!) ... here's Get Freaky : That was when I stopped liking them. Their first album was a lot cooler (and cheesier). Here's the tune "Hymn": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xd847TfxgCc And my favourite tune of that era, from the more serious side of Cheesy^trance, RMB - Spring:

Here's the tune "Hymn": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xd847TfxgCc And my favourite tune of that era, from the more serious side of Cheesy^trance, RMB - Spring: ah funny I've heard both the tracks mentioned by Music Instructor but for some reason I never thought it was the same artist behind them... even funnier is that I just clicked on some youtube links and found out that Hymn was in fact originally made by some band called back in 1974 As for RMB, they're definately in a class of their own My personal fave is you still hear that one quite often in Belgian retro parties

rino
Aesome topic! My absolute 5 picks of 'those' days would be: #1) DJ's At Work- Balloon (el globo) (full Mix) #2) Captain Jack- Captain Jack #3) Whigfield- Saturday night #4) Music Instructor- Hymn #5) Scatman John- Scatman The list looks kinda embarassing now, don't it? It used to rock my boat many a' times, I tell you!
Lemmiwinks
#3) Whigfield- Saturday night My God was that song annoying... It was almost as annoying as The Macarena. BTW did you know that "Whigfield" was just a model who lip synched and the real singer was Lee Ann? Confusing I know

Goa-Head
I was born in 1977 and grown up exactly in the era of euro-house/euro-dance; whatever name you like. 1994-1995 were the heyday years, up to somewhere in 1996 it still existed but after the scene dwindled; commercial trance started to rule. Countless are the tracks that I remember. The first tracks I taped were of this kind; but I also taped "repetitive music" which later I discovered was called Techno, Goa, Hardcore...and turned to that by 1996. My friends still enjoy having those tunes on their mobiles
Melancholyman
Actually I think this resembles Antiloop somewhat, sure it's hollow and bad. BUt somehow in it's genre I think it's good and kinda good produced. Ohh the memories E-type http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRRzvu2twzI...feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oe4D3FFzX1k...feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RsieZNDy_fo...feature=related lol the dancer in the videos is hot though Freestlyer: Is this considered eurodance? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3RpnjiTdHA...feature=related more to come

TheJoker
Loved it when I was a kid, love some of it to this day. I'm escpecially a big fan of Sash!. Classics like Adelante, Encore un fòuis, Ecuador, the secret, Mysterious times++ are timeless, and fantastic, trance/ dance songs IMO. What I like about alot of dance and trance is the emphasis on cathcy, positive and fun melodies :posford:
Bahamut
Snap - Rhythm is a Dancer The ultimate dance classic without a doubt. 2 Unlimited - Tribal Dance http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NEMuwkKrp0 Dune - Can't Stop Raving Felix - Don't You Want Me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbNs0AkBgKc Fierce Ruling Diva - Rubb It In This one is awesome. no-nonsense
* Bellini - Samba De Janeiro * * GEM - I feel you tonight Bonus: * Kadoc - The Night Train * Mystic - Ritmo de la Noche * * (Torsten Fenslau!) And a couple of later, slightly faster tunes verging on makina/happy hardcore, catchy as hell: * * Pont Aeri - Flying Free Can't say if this is proper eurodance, but it's cool: * Into Magic - Zauberstab

Even the name : Captain Hollywood Project !!! Shit that is funny! this is the new entertainment thread! :wank:
