Just for your Info, this is not the Maurizio (Moritz von Oswald) known by his M-series releases or from his work on Basic Channel, but an Italian guy who is named Maurizio (Micelli).

I find this kind of misleading. Actually, the music is kind of allright, but nowhere in the league of the quality that you find on the original M-Series or Basic Channel. Think about it, most of the stuff Moritz von Oswald did is 12 years older than the stuff in the mix...

Hi,

Recently I came across an old set I have in my hard drive and there was a particular track that caught my attention, I looked it up in the track list and found out that the artist was Quantec. I like his style, deep basslines and dense atmospheres smoothly combined with surrounding sounds giving different textures to the music, it gives me the felling of being in a kind of subaquatic world. Could you please recommend some other artists in the same vein

here are a few samples so you can understand what I mean.

This one of my favorite styles of music, it was conceived by Basic Channel and I like the following quote by electronicmusicreview.net: "The Basic Channel sound, like other conceptually genius ideas, has a leg up on other styles because the philosophy behind the music itself [...]" There is something to this, I think. The Echospace detroit label is a good label to keep an eye out.

Some of my favorite acts are:

Intrusion

cv313

Echospace

Fluxion

Yagya

Definitely Yagya !

Love his music. 'Rigning' is such a beautiful album. Slower in pace, but deeper in atmosphere. . .

Also, 'Landscapes & Machines' by P. Laoss is absolutely gorgeous. Hypnotic stuff. . .

I found Laoss' stuff soulless but well made, not bad though.

"Rigning" got a bit of attention on these forums when it was released. It is certainly his most accessible album, but I think his other two albums are at least equally worthy of attention. "Rhythm of Snow" is similar in its relaxed atmosphere, while "Will I Dream During The Process?" shows a more forceful and emotional approach to the genre.

Soulless ? really ?

Have you heard 'Landscapes & Machines' ?

Well, anyway, it's all a matter of taste :)

Regarding Yagya, 'Rigning' is my favorite by him.

Two more recommendations: krill.minima - 'Nautica'

More on the ambient side though. . .

And The Sight Below - Glider ( again, more on the ambient side. . . )

Cheers !

I started a similar topic a while back

should I merge these topics, I guess it would be easier with all the references in one thread ;)

Thanks for the suggestions. So far I've checked Yagya and it is exactly the sound I am looking for.

About Krill Minima, I love his Nautica album, pretty deep.

Ps: feel free to merge the topics, as you said, it would be better to have all the recommendations in one single thread.
