Very cool indeed!! Saiko Pod, Alien Project, Shpongle!!! I'd love to see the faces of the people who don't know shit about psytrance when they buy the new Euphoria and hear some crazy Shpongle stuff.

Saw him in Atlanta a couple months ago, he's actually a really good dj. He played for three hours, started off with dark german style progressive, went into melodic epic style progressive, then for about 30-45 minutes played hard melodic psy such as a couple astrix tracks, then back to some melodic epic progressive stuff. Would have been nice to hear some more of that but this is in a place where almost NOBODY listens to psy trance. The people were definitely digging the tracks he did play so that is a good sign.

i was a bit surprised when i was reading the iDJ mgz (March 2003) and John 00 Fleming had reviewed a lp by MWNN and the 3rd Revelation by Alien Project. Also at his top ten he had a song by Astrix.

There was an AP track in "For Your Ears" only, but that's the only other time I've seen a psy track on one of his mixes.

imagine everyone sounding like wizzy noise.. the same thing have happened with todays full on.. everyone is borrowing each others sounds.. and the source of inspiration seems to be gms/1200 mics.. i can never understand why u dont get tired of this sound. same bass, same rollling bassline, same rythms, same synth stabs, same sqeuakz, etc !!!

what i am talking about is, that i dont like music that is based on a formula such as this style has evolved too. listen to like simon posford .. he is and have been constantly evoluting the sound .. there are others too .. juno reactor.. infected mushroom, chi-a.d. , blue planet corp. etc.. the full-on today everyone are just borrowing sounds from each other and call themselves muscisians.. nothing to do with trance or real music. its just "full on" it doesnt take u anywhere.. sorry..

Maoi, your complaints are valid but typical. Whatever though, six thousand tracks and maybe seven break a mold. You may have to listen to everything to find them though. Better yet, make your own music. You sound dejected it may cheer you up. There is plenty of music out there for you, i'm personally sick of the washed up GMS style. it was cool for about an hour two years ago. i still listen though, go fuck myself.

i saw him in NY @ Arc in Jan. he had a bit of a psy trance style going on, but he was still kinda cheesy. he'll get there.

I make my own music :)

go to http://etherealphaze.iuma.com

Dont worry you will not hear another gms bass in there :)

dont get me wrong, there are afew good "gms formula" trax i like, but they all sound the same!! no creativity.

im still looking on old goa trance for inspiration, for there is nothing that goes as well as an old classic.. like pleiadians.. :)

and i also like progressive stuff like old vibrasphere and s-range.

but thats not "psy".. the new Full on wave, is what everyone seems to connect with psy .. i think it sounds psyboring
