Otto Matta
I get a good feeling about this label but don't know much about it except for some Asura. Is it primarily slower, moodier trance stuff like Asura or is it ambient, and if the latter is it psy-ambient like Entheogenic or spacy ambient like Ishq? Thanks. Guest kakoOlalaJwal
Errrf aren't U going too far in the cutting out of style ?? I think there are all the recipes u mentionned here @ ultimae.... Different influences are mixed together in the Farhenheit Project compilations.... and each artist released has is own sensitiveness.. check www.ultimae.com for complete infos BTW Asura is no longer @ Ultimae but E-FrenchSound now... Peace!
Guest Ciotera
EA, It is a nice label. I have the Fahrenheit projects, the third one is not as good as the first two, but that's to be expected - law of enthropy through replication. Some very nice chilled tracks on the second FP - a few weeks ago after a long night of partying I put track number 5 (Vibrasphere - Folding Time) on my car stereo, pumped the volume to insane levels and just sat there, and every 10 seconds the low base would send tremors through the whole car and my body - it's an insanely beautiful track. Solar Fields is great - mellow, with a lot of interesting soundscapes, but not unrully as Shpongle. I think you'll like it.. I have ordered the Blue Moon Station, but it's still in the mail. My first order from chaosunlimited - I appreciate the human touch and everything, but it is taking them a lot of time to get those CDs to me. Aes Dana is not as good as Solar Fields, imo... not as rich, but still very good.. it's just less striking, less "drop everything and listen to what's happening in the track" kind of ambient, which might actually be something that you are looking for, knowing your aversion for Shpongle. That basically covers all their releases. You can't really go wrong with any of them.. even FP3, even though I busted on it, has many redeeming qualities. Otto Matta
kakoOlalaJwal - Thanks. Perhaps I was cutting up the styles a little, but I've found that every label has a certain sound, which is what I was getting at. Ciotera - Thank you very much, my man. Exactly the info I was looking for. You've peaked my interest.
Guest snoosnoo
Aside all that, the people behind it (Mahiane and Vincent) are some of the coolest, nicest people in the world.... Ishq and Dakini are pretty much in the same ballpark..... Look into an artist named Mere Mortals if you're into that kinda stuff
Otto Matta
I have the Mere Mortals album (I'm a big fan of Interchill/Dakini stuff) and like it a lot. Looks like Ultimae is my kind of label. Thanks to you, too, snoosnoo.
Guest russ
Wonderful label! Two of my favorite downbeat artists at the moment are at Ultimae: Solar Fields and Aes Dana. But one thing I disagree with Ciotera. I think Aes Dana is "drop everything you're doing and listen" music. His Season 5 album is easily my favorite deep ambient artist album: deep and beautiful moon music. Am waiting to hear the new Solar Fields album, as that one should be amazing...the 1st one certainly was! I also recommend IshQ and the Dakini crew. IshQ has a new album in the works, and early this summer, Dakini is releasing their long-awaited next compilation, which is sure to be another classic! p.s. If you come to Japan this summer, you can see Aes Dana do a live, Vincent do a dj, and an entire chill area organized by Dakini Records at my event, The Labyrinth! Everyone's invited :-)
