Kai-Q Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Hi I'm looking exact for that laser cartoon sound, but whitout the background music and speech. http://www.megachwiep.com/Beispiele/cartoonlaser.mp3 Quote
needle ninja Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 You know you can make that sound with a "hi-Q" sample and some delay. Quote
needle ninja Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 what is a 'hi-q' sample?do you want me to describe it, haha it is on a lot of synthesizer ROMs - at least I know Yamaha, Roland, and Korg i.e. anyone could just buy a cheep 90s synth and get this sound Quote
Veracohr Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Kai-Q: "High-Q" refers to the Q of a filter, commonly referred to on synthesizer filters as "resonance". A higher Q has a more exaggerated sound at the cutoff frequency. But actually, the example you posted doesn't sound like it has a particularly high Q, it's mostly just an envelope-controlled pitch bend with a fast decay. Probably some filter modulation as well, but not really with a very high Q. Quote
