lumpi Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 I'm not much of a suomi fan, soundwise. Usually it's not "deep" enough for my taste but more noisy stressful sound. Though there is the occasional release I can enjoy, the latest was the Tea Chairs 3 CD album. It definitely had its moments... Quote

Peyote Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 I always thought everybody agreed that Hong Kong Nightlife is the best , one of the best suomi albums ever for me. Also Freak Dance Records has some nice compilations. Last week Puoskari amazed me with his set, he kept playing superb tracks one after another. Quote
fosku Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Hmm. For me the best suomi albums are (in no particular order): Texas Faggott - Petomans Peflett Squaremeat - Jungle Boogie Party Line Mandalavandalz - Hong Kong Knightlife Torakka - Far Out Express Also the first ever finnish psytrance album, Flippin' Bixies - Sörkkä Sonic deserves a mention. psytimeofmylife Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 Luomuhappo's Pog-o-matic Pogomen 3000 and Borealophitecus are amazing! Especially the tracks Maailman Paras, Exploding Sausages, Swamp Thing, Linnahomo , Greatest of Blessings, Ghetto-Zen-Dub. Well, all of them are fantastic!! Btw, does anyone know if a new album will come? Quote

muzi Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 It's a very good topic, since i've tried listen to some tracks from latest Texas Faggot album and I felt rather rejected... I don't know such music, but I would like to get into it. You've mentioned many albums, but I don't have opportunities to check out so many things. So, I have a little request - can anybody, who consider him/herself as a big fan of Finnish freaks, recommend me 1 or 2 albums, which can slightly introduce me to the genre? I think, that it should be something at least a little similar to "ordinary" psytrance. I would be grateful, thanks in advance. Quote

I know this might be a bit overwhelming, but try to check out Antiscarp Records' homepage, they have a huge catalogue of free Suomi Soundi (in the "online" section). But at first you should try the albums Lightaman Jr - Warm Up and Igor Swamp - Iced. There is two albums for you, and completely free of charge If you liked them, I'm sure other recommendations can be made (well also if don't like them). Enjoy! Quote
Hallusinaatio Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Don't forget Huopatossu Mononen! Very suomisaundis'h! (VA - Hippie Killer Collection)!! http://www.antiscarp.com/47_Huopatossu_Mononen_-_Pimper_At_The_Gates_Of_Jorvi_ep.html Quote

And also Troll Scientists - Sir Eel sounds very nice, though not that suomish. Then there's also Robomate - Skill Sampler, about which is still haven't made up my mind. Quote
Ormion Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Lightaman Jr and Calamar's Audio albums are on the way. Suomi madness! Yeah baby!!! Quote
Sawfly Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 I don't understand sub-genres of trance. I call all trance for just trance! Well it's easier to describe music more deeply, because if you say just trance it could be almost anything from crappy mainstream shit to pure evil darkpsy Quote
Sawfly Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Recent favs: Lightaman JR - Rollator Race Okta - Kyseesh Robomate - Skill Sampler Quote
the goa constrictor Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Robomate - Skill Sampler is fucking AWESOME. Quote
