Darkarbiter
Funny. I'd happily share a mix or two if it was anyone else asking.I'm asking. Also, I'd like to point out there was allready a dark ambient thread, and concidering it was only on the third page here... anyway, abasio's dark ambient set was great. I'd highly recommend it, will probably need a re upload though.
cyber echo
Herbst9 is nice. Seems pretty much typical dark ambient to me. Inade is good too. Anyway I didn't see RAISON D'ETRE mentioned. He is among the very best this genre has to offer. Metamorphyses tracks 4 and 5 are probably my favorite dark ambient pieces ever, together with some Lustmord stuff and a few other things. Greets, I was high as hell when I posted. Inade is great (The Crackling of the anonymous, aldebaran) Raison d'etre is didnt like so much, although tbh ive only downloaded the empty hollow unfolds [2000] and didnt like that much. A murder of angels is some good "dark" music. Although their name suggests that their music is "evil" it isnt. There's a clear distinction between the void of darkness and cheesy evil. eh.. you can try deathprod, if u can stomach his tracks. They're a bit on the extreme droning/experimental sounds side. Bahamut
Herbst9 - Buried under time and sand I listened to this one in bed with headphones while being half asleep and I remember parts of it were damn amazing. Even more so than other stuff I've heard from this group. I need to listen to it again while being more awake.
Luminon
Dark ambient? What you are searching for is: Geomatic - Blue Beam It's ambient but not amorphous, includes a sinister arabian music with some decently harsh electronic sounds. My favorite track is Alternate Universe. I think you will love it, although I don't recognize any other albums recommended here. http://www.discogs.com/Geomatic-Blue-Beam/release/1205903 Here is the first track, which is very good as well. Hazard
If you want to listen some beautifull drak ambient you try to listen LUSTMORD - and I mean all from this man: http://www.discogs.com/artist/Lustmord I like also this release Envra - Black Eden - but it's a bit scary http://www.discogs.com/Endvra-Black-Eden/master/46633
Yard Hippie
If you want to listen some beautifull drak ambient you try to listen LUSTMORD - and I mean all from this man: http://www.discogs.com/artist/Lustmord I've recently happened upon Lustmord and yeah, you're absolutely right, it's some of the darkest stuff I've ever heard. I read someplace that he takes field recordings from cemetaries/caves/slaughterhouses and mixes them in... I don't know how true that is but whatever he does do he does it very well I've been finding Ethan Bartholemew's 'Secret Entries into darkness' particularly dark also recently. New Raison D'Etre album coming up. Check out teaser: http://raisondetre.coldmeat.se/ I am absolutely thrilled by this. It sounds bloody awesome!! Could be one of those albums where everything an artist has previously worked on falls together and reaches a climax.

RTP
Kammarheit (!!!!!!) I'd check any release from cyclic law label, where kammarheit releases. Yes, Kammarheit ... I forgot about this one. It's drone though, so I'd not consider it that dark per se. But it's good. And generally, what Cyclic Law label releases is good. Also try Luasa Raelon - The Poison City. Label: Eibon Records. Check them.

Here are some more total mind benders that will take you down there and beyond: Herbst9 - From a dark chasm below Troum & Yen pox - Mnemonic induction Steve Roach & Vidna Obmana - Well of Souls disc

flamboyantcuttlefish
If anyone's interested, I've put together an ambient/dark ambient mix. A few of the artists in the mix have been mentioned on this thread. It's my first mix, so could be improved, in particular the first part of the mix is a bit quiet. I've tried to pick a certain kind of tracks - there are no cheesy "evil" sounds or samples, only ambiguous darkness. Link: http://dump.no/files/47b1b318b6ab/ambient09.mp3 Tracklist: 01. Steve Roach - A Deeper Silence 02. Cousin Silas - Mill Lights In Valley 03. Eluder - Moon Plea 04. Ulf Söderberg - Utfärd 05. Thomas Köner - Polynya II 06. False Mirror - Beyond the White Plainscapes 07. Robert Rich - The Simorgh Sleeps on Velvet Tongues 08. Lustmord - Metastatic Resonance 09. Jack Dangers - Horologium Dwarf 10. Vidna Obmana & Alio Die - Echoes Of Light - A Slip Of Darkness - The Passage 11. Proton Kinoun - Apeiron Length is ~1 hour. Any feedback welcome.
